Yukari's POV
The pelican geese flew in a "V" shaped formation, signaling the beginning of spring. We all gathered on the deck to watch Kai face off against Uncle Bumi. Uncle Bumi moves around in a boxer position, while Kai looks on in confusion.
"Light on your feet, Uncle Bumi. Remember, you want to be quick and evasive." Jinora calls out.
"Don't worry about me, little lady. I've been in a scrap or two you know." Uncle Bumi said confidently, punching the air with his fists, "Oh, you're just a youngster, so I'm gonna go easy on ya. Wouldn't want to hurt a kid .." Kai slides to the floor, and fires an airbending blast at Bumi's legs, knocking him to the ground.
"That's gotta hurt." Zenji said, while Jinora and Kai helps him up.
"Uncle Bumi, you've got to work on your stance changes." She tells him, "Kai, that was just, really good."
"Thanks Jinora, you're a great teacher." Kai said, scratching behind his head.
Jinora stares at Kai for a second, before turning away, blushing. Wait, she's blushing? Don't tell me she's. I glanced at Tenzin who isn't really focusing on Jinora. I sighed relieved, since Tenzin is the overprotective Dad that he is.
"It's so exciting to be on a diplomatic mission to Ba Sing Se. What's the Earth Queen like?" Korra asks Tenzin.
"I've never met her, but I've heard she can be quite ... demanding." Tenzin answered.
"Is this true?" I asked Asahi.
"Well, I've met her only once. And that was during her coronation. She was usually friendly with my father and mother." Asahi responded.
Demanding, yet friendly? This sounds a lot like Lady Amaya. I've read somewhere that the her father the Earth King, proposed that Lady Amaya be inducted in the royal patronage society. But this seems to be a bit daunting to meet her, how will she react to us? Before I could dwell on the thought, Bolin rush towards the railing, "This is it, Mako! We made it! This is where Dad grew up! Come here! Look, look!"
"Okay, calm down, I'm looking." Mako said, calming down his ecstatic brother.
I looked on seeing a huge wall in front of us. From the outside it looked like no one could climb it.
"I wonder how many airbenders are down there." Korra said, curiously.
As it gets closer, the sun shines brightly over the top, before revealing the expansive city beyond. People lining up to get some water from an opened stream. This is worse than Republic City, I covered my nose with the back of my hand as the smell of rotten waste filled the air.
"Uhh, the Lower Ring looks terrible." Korra said, watching on in disgust.
"Yeah, I can smell it from here. No wonder Dad left." Bolin said, covering his face under his shirt.
A few minutes later, we arrived in the middle ring, then finally we arrived in the upper ring where a golden palace stood. It's roof gleaming in the sunlight guarded by Earth Kingdom guards. The airship lands safely on the ground. As the ramp lowered we were greeted by a man in royal attire.
"Avatar Korra, Sansar Yukari, and Master Tenzin, it is a pleasure to welcome you and your party to the Upper Ring of Ba Sing Se. I'm Grand Secretariat Gun." he bowed.
Korra and I bowed, "Thank you." she said.
Bolin stepped forward along with Naga and Oogi behind him. He inhaled some fresh air, "Aah, it's got that Upper Ring smell." I chuckled, shaking my head.
