Later that night I was sleeping in my bed until suddenly, I was woken up by someone singing. I quickly rushed out onto the carnival grounds. Finding Unalaq and Tarnok trying to appease a tall dark spirit using waterbending. But I was more surprised of Tarnok as he singing the tune of the song. As the water falls to the ground, the spirit begins to walk away, before disappearing.
"Go in peace." Unalaq finished.
Tenzin, Tonraq, and I run over to them.
"Korra!" Tonraq shouts.
"Are you all right?" Tenzin asks.
"How are you able to control that spirit when no one else could?" Korra asked Unalaq.
"As your father could tell you, I along with shaman Tarnok have spent my life studying the spirits and learning their ways. All of this knowledge is lost in the South, but I could teach you and Yukari everything I know."
"Chief Unalaq, clearly you are very knowledgeable, but Korra and Yukari still has much to learn about airbending. And I hope that going to the air temples will help them connect with the past Avatars." Tonraq interjects.
"The air temples will teach them nothing." Unalaq said bluntly, "Only I can give them the training she needs to be a complete Avatar."
Tonraq narrowed his eyes, "I've told you that will not happen!"
"Hey! I'm right here! Anyone want to ask me what I think?" Korra asked.
"Korra, please listen."
"I'm tired of listening to you. Both of you. You keep me locked up, telling me you know what's best. But both of you were powerless against the spirit attack." I furrowed my brow as Korra pause for a moment, "I think it's time I had a new teacher."
"Now Korra—"
"Unalaq has proven he's the only one who knows what I need to learn. I have to go with him." She interrupted and glares back at me.
"Please, I know you're angry, but we've come so far together." Tenzin said.
"I'm sorry, Tenzin. This is as far as we go." Korra said.
Tenzin appears hurt, but he remains respectful, "It has been a pleasure serving you, Avatar Korra." And walks away.
"What say you, Sansar are you on board?" Unalaq asked.
"No. But I wish both of you the best of luck. Including you." I said following Tenzin.
*******
"Yukari, you don't have to come." Tenzin said as we loaded our thing onto Oogi the next morning.
"I do. You are the only one who can help me connect with the past Avatars. Besides, I don't trust Unalaq."
Once we were all seated, Gran Gran, Tariqq along with Kya, Bumi, and Sonra approached us.
"I think you forgot a couple of things." Gran gran said.
"Mother, I think I need some time alone with my family right now." Tenzin said taking a sack and turning away.
"Tenzin, you better listen to your mother. If Amaya was here she'll grab you by your ear and lecture you on how family is important."
Tenzin sighed, "I know, uncle Tariqq."
"Besides, I think it's important that you all visit your father's home together."
Bumi punches Tenzin's arm, before wrapping his arm around Tenzin's shoulders, "Come on! It'll be fun."
"I'm dying to see that laid back, Vacation Tenzin I've heard so much about." Kya added.
