"Yukari, Yukari, Yukari. WAKE UP!"
"What, what?" I whined, hoping that she could just bother dad.
"I was wondering if we are there yet?" Ikki asked, "Does it look like I'm riding?" I asked facing her while pointing at dad.
"Umm," she looked at dad, then at me, "No," she answered.
"Well then there's your answer, now if you'll excuse me," I placed the pillow over my face so that Ikki wouldn't bother me again. A few moment later I felt poking on my arm a second time. Stars above I'm this close to throwing her off of this flying bison. But then again she's an Airbender, so she could just fly herself back on.
I shot up with a grim expression, however it changed as I saw the white lotus insignia.
"Are there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" Ikki asked as Meelo started to gnaw on dad's head.
"Yes, Ikki, as I've been telling you for the last fifteen minutes, we are, finally, here," he said relieved, Ikki exclaimed a Wee! As she and Jinora made air scooters headed straight towards our grandmother Katara. Katara was a skilled bender, she even taught me everything I know in water bending, except, I didn't tell her about my other skill, well not yet at least. I started to help mom of the bison, but she waved me off, "Go say hi to Gran-gran, I'll be fine," she said, giving a warm smile. I nodded and trailed dad and the happy bunch to my grandmother.
"Hello, Mother, I can't tell you how happy I am to see you," Meelo was on his shoulders, pulling father's ears. "Please, help me."
She laughed warmly, taking Meloo off dad's head.
Meloo flailed his arms "Unhand me, strange woman!" he demanded.
"That's your grandmother Meloo," Tenzin said, I giggled and shook my head as I went to gran-gran giving her a hug, "Hi gran-gran,"
"Yukari, is that really you?" gran-gran said surprised, "Why it was only yesterday that you were at my waste, now you're towering over me. Oh, I almost forgot, today is your 17th birthday isn't it?"
"It is but-" she held a mysterious leather box with a golden crest and writing. "A gift from Lady Amaya, she said wanted to give you this to you today, but---" She sighed a doleful sigh.
"Oh, wow, I-I don't know what to say," I said looking at dad, he smiled, and nodded. I sheepishly accepted the gift. Lady Amaya was always kind to me, she almost like a second grandmother. Very warm, makes you laugh when you had a rough day, gives you good advice when you needed it, and tell amazing stories about the 100 year war. Not to mention she even gave me her recipes for her famous gyudon. She was planning to come to the South Pole to celebrate but unfortunately, she died a week before my 17th birthday.
"Yukari ?"
I sharply turned, "Well, well, well, if it isn't Avatar Korra," I said with a smirk and bowed respectfully. Afterwards, we embraced in a tight bear hug, "Hey you,"
"Hey you too, remember you owe me a rematch." she said, as she punches my left arm in jest.
"First of all, you cheated," I said defensively, "You're lucky I didn't slip,"
"Well you'll have plenty of time to redeem yourself aye?"
"Yeah, plenty of time," I said with a nervous laugh, and showing a big smile. While Korra made her way towards my father, "Maybe not," I muttered under my breath. I went back to Mom and Dad, Mom was fussing about having a normal baby, "All I want is one child like me, a nice non-bender, who doesn't blast wind in my face every five seconds,"
