Kazuya suddenly plummeted towards the ground, only to be rescued by both Wan and Aya. Aya frantically took some water from her flask and placed it over the wound Kazuya's wound. As the water began to glow, Kurayami taunted, "Don't bother. With the damage I've caused, your little magic water wouldn't heal her."
Aya gritted her teeth, holding back the anger that boiled within her. Wan attacked, sending a ball of fire after her. It missed, however, as she disappeared in thick smoke. Just focus on healing Kazuya. You have to, she told herself, sinking her hands deeper into the wound. However, she lost concentration when a small voice called out to her, "Aya."
Aya slowly lowered her eyes, seeing Kazuya looking back at her. Kazuya placed a hand on Aya's tear-stained face and smiled wearily. "Thank you." she breathed.
"For what?" Aya questioned, puzzled by Kazuya's words.
"For being the last face I see while I'm dying."
"Don't say that. You're going to make it. We gotta go back to the oasis and--"
"No, Aya." Kazuya dismissed. "Please promise me you'll finish Akari."
Tears filled Aya's eyes again, "I will, but she's too powerful."
"There is another way. You must seal her physical body using spiritual energy. That way, she can never harm a living soul nor influence a living soul ever again."
"But I don't know how," Aya replied. Kazuya lifts her other hand and presses it softly on Aya's forehead. Suddenly a blue light glowed from her fingertips, "When that day comes, you must seal her away." Kazuya said weakly. Aya's blood went cold as Kazuya closed her eyes for the last time and disappeared into a million little balls of blue light. Aya began whimper, then it went on to full-blown waling. She never thought she could cry so much, but the pain was so deep that it left a hole in her chest. Wan knelt beside her and placed his arms around her. Aya then found herself crying in his bosom.
"I'm here." he said softly. Aya grabbed Wan's clothes. Like a scared little child clinging to her father. Just then, the skies darkened, and dark spirits appeared, followed by a massive Vaatu. Wan furrowed his brows as he broke free from Aya, and stood to confront the spirit, "Vaatu."
"So, we meet again, human." Vaatu says, "And it appears that Raava's epitome is no more."
Aya gritted her teeth hard enough to make them squeak. Tears flowed down her face upon seeing the massive spirit hovering over the village accompanied by the legion of corrupted spirits.
"Why is the great spirit of the darkness here but not his other half?" a nomad asked Wan. Aya looked away in shame. A million thoughts rushed through her head. If only they hadn't rescued Kurayami, none of this would've happened.
Wan slightly flinches nervously, "Uh, I'll explain later." he then turned his attention to the Dark Spirit, "Leave these people in peace. They've done nothing to harm you." Wan firebends at a dark spirit who attacks a woman, then a swarm of dark spirits surges toward him.
Before Aya could react, Raava appears and knocks Vaatu away, "How are you feeling since our split, Raava?" Vaatu taunted, "I've never been better. When Harmonic Convergence comes, I will destroy you forever." Vaatu then leaves along with the dark spirits, leaving us alone. Wan sighs, relieved.
"I thought I told you to go back to the oasis," Raava scolded Aya and turned to Wan. "And you not to interfere?"
"We had to do something." Wan explained, "These people were in danger."
"And where's Kazuya?" Raava questioned. Aya froze as tears flowed down her face. "So she has been plucked out of the physical world?" Raava asked.
"What does that mean?" Wan questioned.
