The legend of Korra: The Sansar Returns

Chapter 6

Korra stood in a combat position facing Wing on the opposite side. Korra narrowed her eyes in determination. Suddenly, Wei  fires two meteorites at her, but she dodges them and sends her metal cable at him. He dodges it twice, traps it on the ground, and bends it back at her. The impact of the cable knocks Korra to the ground.

"I can't believe I'm sparring with the Avatar!" Wei exclaims.

"I can't believe I'm stuck with her friend." His twin joined, he then turns to me, "Can you spar with me? I mean you are the Sansar."

"Oh come on Wing, give Bolin a chance."

"Um, I'm Wei." he responded.

I blinked twice, "Oh, right." I said as Zenji approaches beside me, "I can't tell which is which." 

"That's easy, Mr. Pouty is Wei and Mr. Sunshine is Wing." 

We watched as Bolin tries to manipulate a meteorite but couldn't bend it. Suddenly he gets smacked by two metal platforms. "Trial by fire. It's the best way to learn metalbending." Wei said, shooting another meteorite after him. Bolin ducks as a meteorite is sent toward him. He quickly bends a pebble at his attacker, directly hitting his forehead; causing Wei to drop a meteorite and rub his forehead in pain.

"Whoa. Nice shot, Bolin!" Mako said as he and Asami approached us. "But I thought you were supposed to be practicing metalbending, not earthbending."

"Yeah, cheater." Wei mumbled, crossing his arms. 

"Mako, metalbending is extremely difficult. No one gets it right away, if they can get it at all! It's not normal!" Bolin responded, I turned to see Korra gracefully weaving through the attacks using her metal whip and wrapped it around Wing's feet, causing him to stumble to the ground. 

"Woo-hoo!" Korra exclaims, jumping in triumph and flexed her muscles, "Metal-bending champion!"

"Oh sure. She's the Avatar." Bolin said disappointingly.

"Or you're just a--wwhumph!!!" Before Zenji could finish, I elbowed him at his side causing him to hold his side, "Okay, shutting up." he mumbled.

"Guys, it's time to get cleaned up. Tonight is Mai-Li and Opal's farewell dinner." Asami told us.

"Oh, now I have to say bye to Opal? This is the worst day ever!" Bolin groaned, slumping his shoulders and walks away sulkily.

Once everyone went to their separate ways and washed up, we came back and each sat at the table. I took a seat between to Korra and the chief, while Asami took the empty seat next to Varrick and Korra. Zenji sat next to Bolin while Asahi and and Mako took seat at the other side of the table. As the dinner progressed the chief prepared each of Mai-Li's and Opal's favorite meals. Soon after Su stands from her seat and taps her glass.

"Everyone, if I could have your attention please? Tonight, my beautiful little girls leaves for the Northern Air Temple." She then turns to Opal and Mai-Li who sits directly beside her, while she is speaking, Baatar Sr. translates for Mai-Li, "Opal and Mai-Li, none of us could be more proud of you both. You're incredible daughters, sisters, friends, and soon to be airbending masters." Su leans in and kisses both girls on their foreheads. I place my hand on my chest and smiled, seeing Su wipe the tears from Mai-Li's face. "Here's to Opal and Mai-Li. May they lead us into the new era!"

After dinner, everyone went to the loading dock to say goodbye to Opal, Mai-Li and Zenji. As the airship docked Zenji turns around, "Well, I guess this is it."

"I guess so." I responded. Zenji was about to say something, but his eyes began to glimmer a bit. He quickly covered his face with his arms and turns away, "Wait, are you crying?"
