Yukari's POV

There are days where I wish the ground would swallow me whole. And today was one of those days. Zeina placed a hand on my lap I looked to her as she gave me a sympathetic smile. Tears filled my eyes again causing me to bury my face in her bosom. How? How could this happened? We only had one mission. Close the portals so that Vaatu could not get out, but we failed, miserably. And as a result, Jinora's spirit is somewhere. The tall towers of the temple were in view and Oogi made his landing. On the ground Hayato and Yuuto plays with Meelo and Ikki, while Pema and Haruka picks some flowers in the garden.

"Dad's back!" Meelo shouts, pointing at the bison.

Once Oogi landed, Pema, Haruka, Yuuto, and Hayato approached us, "Where's Jinora?" she asked looking around, confused.

I looked at Tenzin, as tears flowed down my eyes. Tenzin closes his eyes, and slowly lifts up Jinora's inanimate body. Haruka gasped, clamping her hands over her mouth. Yuuto and Hayato's eyes widened in shock.  "No!" Pema breathed dropping the flowers from her grasp as she quickly rushed to Tenzin, grabbing Jinora out of his hands.

"Her spirit is trapped in the Spirit World, but she's going to be all right." Tenzin told her.

"How could this happen?" Pema questioned.

" It was all my fault." Tenzin said, looking down in shame,  "I should have never let Jinora enter the Spirit World without me. I couldn't protect her."

"I'm so so sorry." I spoke, my voice cracking from emotion, "We tried our best to save her, but Unalaq and Kurayami got in the way."

" Don't worry, honey," Tenzin says as he rubs the back of his hand along her cheek, "I'm not going to stop until our little girl is back safe with us."

Back in the Southern Water tribe, a servant ties some ribbon around Kurayami's hair. She opens her eyes and heads towards a mirror which was located at the far side of the room. She smiled in satisfaction. Her spasms ceased ever since she came back from the spirit world. But it wouldn't last for long given that her vessel's spirit would return to take back his body. Kurayami exhales noticing Unalaq approaching her.

"You've changed?" he asked.

"Well, since Harmonic Convergence is but a few days away, I wanted to change my appearance."

Unalaq looks down at the ground, "I'm sorry master, I couldn't destroy her."

"There's no need for you to apologize. Her guide is in the Fog of Lost Souls, by the time they've located her, the whole world will fall in an endless night." Kurayami told him, placing a hand on his shoulders.

Unalaq looked at her, "Do you think Vaatu would accept me as his vessel?"

Kurayami sighed, "I've known Vaatu ever since my creation, and given on how far we've come, he'll do more than accept."

Unalaq smiled, relieved. But as he was about to reply, a bell was heard, signaling that there is an intruders from the west, followed by soldiers voices.

Yukari's POV

We quickly left the Eastern Air Temple, and headed to Republic City. Once we arrived, it was already evening. We left Pema, Meelo, and Ikki on Air Temple Island, while the rest of us looked for the President to tell him about the immanent threat on Republic City.

At the Arena, the press snapped pictures of some famous person, while a police car drives away. Once Oogi descends, Korra and I jump off and approach the president who was talking to chief Beifong. "President Raiko!"
