A few weeks later, we headed to the South Pole to visit Katara to see if she could heal Korra. Since she was a blood-bender herself, Korra hoped that she would be better, but that wasn't certain. Katara left the room to break the news to everyone who was outside, leaving me and Korra alone.
Just then, Korra gets up and leaves the room. I quickly followed her. She stops and eyes everyone upon noticing all the people in the room staring back at her.
"It's going to be all right Korra." Tenzin reassured her.
"No, it's not." Korra frowned and left the room. Mako wants to talk to Korra, but he hesitates at first. Thoughts rushed through my head. Should I go and talk to her, or should Mako go. I made my way over and placed my hand on Mako's shoulder.
"Korra needs you." I said calmly, "I know you can reach her."
Mako smiles and walks out of the house, and follows Korra. A few moments later, Tenzin and I wanted to check if Korra was alright. But as we went outside, Korra was riding away on Naga.
"We need to be patient with her. It will take time for her to accept what has happened." Tenzin said to Mako.
I balled my fists as tears filled my eyes. But then as I opened them, I saw the same fox sitting at the entrance of the village. It was the same fox that guided me to Korra. I quickly ran towards Oogi and hopped on.
"Yukari, what're you doing?" Mako asked.
"No time for questions. Are you coming or not?"
Mako nodded and hopped on the bison. I snapped the reins, "Oogi, yip, yip!"
As we were lifted into the sky, my eyes were fastened on the fox as it dashed through the snow. Just then, I felt a powerful sensation in my body. Something I've never felt before. Then I look down seeing Korra bending all four elements. She's entered the Avatar State; I thought as we landed. I quickly hopped off of the bison and ran toward Korra before punching her in the arm.
"Don't ever pull that stunt again." I pointed sternly, then softened and gave her a hug, "I'm glad you're okay."
Korra then looks back at Mako and runs towards him, embracing him in a hug, "I love you too."
Mako and Korra share a passionate kiss. I felt happy for them, even though I should've been with him. But at least she is happy with him. Back in the village, Korra uses technique of Lin to restore her bending. Korra's eyes glow as she enters the Avatar State, and light emanates from her thumbs as she uses energy bending. When Korra has finished, Lin climbs to her feet and simultaneously lifts several large rocks into the air at once. Everyone watches with awed expressions on their faces, Bolin's eyes almost popping out of his head.
" Thank you." Korra bows to Lin.
"I am so proud of you, Avatar Korra," Tenzin says, placing a hand on her shoulder. I walked over and wrapped her hand in mine as we shared a smile.
Though peace returned to Republic City, a much bigger threat was looming than Korra, nor was I prepared for.
