Chapter 8

~~~~~Bud POV~~~~~

"So this is a telephone," i say slowly to the 2 purebloods, seeing as this is the 8th time im explaining it

"Right, the thing you talk into and hear someone out of"

"Correct," i sigh heavily, "Now you need a telephone line in your hiuse to use it. Its this thing," i show them the line thats normally hooked up in a house then look to his parents, "Do you lot need this ir can you use magic some how?"

"Magic messes up muggle technology. We will make a room just for the teleport"

Nodding i turn back to the boys, "Now, when you use the phone you up this up," i pick up the phone and show them the cord, "This part stays at your mouth"

I put the phone to my ear and show them, "You hold it like this. You talk in a normal voice as if i was standing right next to you. You can hear them through the top part and speak into the bottom part. Do you understand?"

"Yes," they both say at the same time

"Good. Now to call someone you have a list of numbers called a phone number. You put in the number," i show them the paper with mine and Lily's number then push the buttons on the phone, "Then it will ring until someone answers"

"Ok, i just have one question," Sirius says as he stares at the phone, "How does it work?"

I turn and slam my head into the wall next to me to keep from strangling Sirius.

"I dont like this," Lily glares at me as we have both boys in our muggle home

"Lily," i look to her with a small smile, "I have spent the last 2 hours trying to explain a phone. Do not test me sweet sister of mine. If Sirius asks me one more time how a phone works i will kill him. If you complain at all i will kill you. If Janes asks about his Lily Flower one more time. I will kill him"

"Fine"

She turns and walks to the living room where we have one phone and where James it waiting. I walk to my parents room where the other phone is and were Sirius is waiting

"Ok, Lily will call first," he opens his mouth but i quickly put my hand over it, "Sirius.......do nto ask how it works.......i am trying very very very VERY hard not to kill you and James. Understand?"

He nods a little so i release him. After a moment the phone rings. I pick it up and hand it to Sirius

"Now talk, in a normal room voice"

"Hello?" Sirius says with a frown then his face lights up, "James! I can hear you as if you were right here mate!"

I sigh a little and rub my very red forehead that will most definitely be sore tomorrow, possibly bruised

"Now hang up and we will call him"

"Ok im hanging up James. Ill call you in a minute!"

Sirius pulls the phone from his ear and hands to to me. I take his hand and move it to where he should put the phone. Once he releases it i show him the number then pick the phone up and put the number in. I then hand him the phone

"Its ringing," he informs me as he stares excitedly at the wall infront of him, "James! Look! Were using muggle phones! This is way cooler then sending letters with owls!"

Letting out yet another sigh i turn and leave the room. I find Lily coming down the hall with a frown

"They have magic yet there excited about a non magical thing"

"Lily, to them they thing muggles live like cave people. They cant understand how muggle function without magic. Those boys would get themselves killed if they were to go out inti the muggle world alone. Bloody hell.....now i see why parents drink......im glad i cant have children. Ill become an alcoholic if i ever had kids like them"

Lily smiles at me as she shakes her head, "Come on. Ill make you some tea and biscuits"

"Thank you"

I follow her to the kitchen, ignoring James whos still talking on the phone, and sit next to dad who is watching James as if he had grown a second head

"Why is he acting like that?"

"You how know me and Lily get excited over magic? How you and mum find it fascinating?" He nods as he now looks to me, "Wizards and witches do not have phones. James and Sirius are from pureblood magic family meaning they have never once lived in the muggle world or been with muggles. They do not understand muggles. Learning about muggles is like Lily and i learning about magic. But bloody hell, explaining the phone to them makes me want to drink!"

Dad laughs and pats my back a little, "That, my boy, is the joys of teaching"

I nod and happily take the cup of tea and biscuits from Lily. Taking a bite from a biscuit i watch James talk excited into the phone then blow on my tea before drinking it

"You know," i speak up to Lily in a whisper so dad doesnt hear, "James isnt all that bad. You should give him a chance"

"Do you see what he does to Sev? He is nothing but a bully," she crosses her arms and glares at James

"Sirius told me James acted as a very caring person to you when.....i had my mental break," i whisper that quieter dad for sure doesnt hear

She glances at me then sighs, "Yes, he was,very kind and sweet during that time"

"He cares for you," i whisper to her as she watches James, "He's mean to Severus because he sees Severus as a threat. In the wild males fight for there females. Feel lucky that they arents throwing killing curses at each other for you"
