Chapter 18

"I cant believe its the end of out 6th year," Lily says as she and i walk over to her and sit next to her in the Great Hall for dinner. I had made sure to clean my pants before i left Sirius' room and made sure no one saw me leave his room

"I know," i smile at her, "That means next year is the last year at Hogwarts"

"Dont remind me," she pouts at me, "Its so sad!!" 

"I know," my smile falls a little as i watch her pout and nibble on her food

I couldnt help but think about the war and whats to come in the next few years. I didnt want next year to end. I wanted us tostay as teens in Hogwarts forever. Never grow up, never suffer the pains of lossing a loved one. But, thats not how the world world

I look over and watch as Sirius sits down with James. Sirius was beaming even more then he normally does and seemed to be in an even happier mood

"I wonder whats gotten into him"

"Maybe hes just excited for summer," i tell Lily before turning back to her, "I have to finish packing tonight but tomorrow were riding a carriag ed together and sitting on the train together right?"

"Yes, and you better not keep me waiting," she narrows her eyes at me

"Yes ma'am," i grin at her before finishing my plate of food, "Im heading up to my room. Gotta finish packing"

"I thought you did that earlier," she now looks at me with a frown

"No......i um, dont feel i did well on the exams so i spent time with Sirius to take my mind off of it"

She rolls her eyes and looks annoyed as she turns back to her food, "Yes, im sure the great Bud Evans did horrible on his exams"

"The sarcasm is not necessary young lady," i smile at her before heading out of the Great Hall

Of course i did look over at Sirius as i walked by and nodded to him before leaving.

I went to my room and i did pack away the resg of my stuff besides clothes for tomorrow and my journal and my quill. The quill i had charmed so it didnt run out of ink for 24 hours. I then wrote in my journal several spells i needed to learn and teach the others. I know Lily wants us to enjoy our last year at Hogwarts but i needed to make sure we learned useful spells for the future. I needed to make sure i changed whats to come

I woke up with a start to a slamming sound. Sitting up i found i fell asleep on my journal.

Groaning i close and lock it before putting it and my quill away then stand up with a stretch. I looked around and saw my room mates leaving with there stuff

Sighing i changed quickly, shoved my clothes from yesterday into my trunk, then drag my trunk down stairs and leave it with everyone else. I then had to go get my owl, however the moment i stepped outside there was my owl perched on a branch near by waiting for me

"Good girl, come on," i open her cage and wait. She flies over and easily gets into the cage, hooting loudly as she does. My owl is one of the biggest ones i could find. I loved how she looked

I set her with my stuff before going into the Great Hall. I sat down with my table, seeing as our head of houses would give us our exam results before we board the train

I sat nervously as i waited. I watched as my head of house started from the opposite end i was sitting and slowly made his way to me

"Here you go Mr. Evans"

I take it and look over it quickly. One look over and i felt my shoulders drop and my disappointment rise up

"Did you actually fail something?" I look up at Lily who was looking at me worriedly

"I got an A...."

Her worried look drops to one of shock, "You got an A? On what?"

"Ancient Runes"

"Wow. I never thought id see the day you got something lower then an O. Well minus that one E you got last year"

I drop my face to the table and groan. I had planned on making all O's this year but here i was with an A. There goes my perfect grades

"Whats the matter with him?" I head James ask from next to Lily

"He got an A in Ancient Runes," a fellow Ravenclaw says in a cheerful voice, "That was honestly the easiest class. Everyine else made an O except Evans"

I spin around quickly and angerly, "Look whos talking! You failed Muggle Studies last year and this year! You got a T both years and you got a P in Potions this year," she jumps back in shock, "I wouldnt say shit if i were you!"

"Ok time to go," Sirius picks me up from behind making me stand up and drags me away while i glare daggers at the Ravenclaw

"Bitch wants to talk about easy classes!" I shout at her but am dragged outo f the Great Hall before i can say anything else

Huffing i pull away from Sirius and grumble to myself as i glance back at the doorway. I almost went back in, toll i saw James, Peter, Remus, and Lily come out the door. I knew i wasnt going back in. Instead i turned and headed down the hall

"An A isnt that bad," Sirius says after a momemt

I stop and look to him annoyed, "As much as i hate to admit it the bitch was right. Ancient Runes was easy. I should have been able to make an O no problem yet i messed up"

He rolls his eyes before throwing an arm over my shoulder and dragged me down the hall, "Come on Nerd. Lets go ahead and catch a carriage and find good seats on the train"

"Never thought id see a Ravenclaw try to fight another Ravenclaw because of grades," i hear Peter mutter from the back

"Some of us care about our grades thank you!" I snap at him without really thinking. I was angry with myself
