Chapter 14

I smiled brightly as i watched Lily stop at the top of the stairs with her friends. She and her friends looked beautiful. If i liked girls if be hitting on her friends all night long. Instead i took loads of pictures of them as they walked down the stairs 

"Bud stop it already," Lily says with a smile as she swats at my arm, "Your not going to be doing that all night are you?"

"Yep i am," i grin at her before handing the camera to her friend, "Mind taking a picture of my sister and i?"

Her friend agreed and i put my arm around Lily's waist while she put hers around mine and we both smiled at the camera. Once our picture was taken i took the camera back and took pictures of Lily and her friends as they walked into the Great Hall, which was decorated in fake snow walling from the sky but vanishing before it touched the ground. The tables all gone and in there place were smaller round tables set up everywhere but the big open floor where everyone could dance. The room was white with hints of blues and light pinks. There was a table to the side where an elf had drinks for anyone who was thirsty while another elf stood behind another table with snacks. They mostly tried to stay out of sight but they were making sure no one spiked the food or drinks 

I took pictures of the room and several other people all before the Marauders came walking in all dressed in nice muggle suits. I made sure to take pictures of them seeing as they would be in Lily and i's life for a very long time, all but Peter that is. 

I wasnt surprised when i noticed not very many Slytherin showed up. They must think they are above this ball or they were off speaking with Tom about Death Eater things. It wouldnt surprise me if they were reporting back to him

"You werent joking were you?" 

I lower my camera and look to Sirius before smiling, "Nope, camera boy, all night long"

"Seems boring dont you think?"

I look over at Lily and take a few more pictures of her laughing and smiling and enjoying herself, "No. Because i plan on making sure Lily and James live no matter what. I plan on them raising there son and any other future children. I want them to have pictures of happy moments like this where they forget there is a war going on. After next year there wont be many happy moments Sirius, not till there son is born. I want to capture every one of them as they come along so latter on down the road they can look back on these times and remember the happy memories, not the sad or scary ones that are to come"

I watch Lily as she enjoys her night with her friends. She was having so much fun. The James came over to her and offered her a polite smile and a hand. It was then i noticed the music had slowed down. Lily look hesitant but one of her friends pushes her and she takes James' hand. 

My smile grows as i lift the camera and take several pictures of Lily and James dancing together. They did make a cute couple and they did look so happy together even if Lily didnt want to admit it. Even though i made her life hard last year with the crystal ball i know because of that James was able to be the rock she needed and he was able to grow up, which is what Lily needed 

"Come on"

I look away from Lily and James and look to Sirius as he motions for me to follow then leaves the room. Frowning i set the camera down near Lily's friends, after asking them to take pictures for me, then follow Sirius. I didnt know why he wanted me to follow him but i figured it was better to just go with it the question it

Sirius led us down several halls before going up to the Astronomy tower. Once we got up to the top Sirius went and leaned on the side of the wall but staired up at the stary night sky. I stood not too far away from him and looked up as well. I hardly ever stopped to truly look at the stars unless i was in class but even then i didnt enjoy them like everyone else did. To me they were just lights in the sky but now, for some reason, looking up at the beautiful lights in the sky i found myself mesmerized by there. 

"I never fancied anyone before," Sirius says but i keep my eyes on the stars, "James always fancied Lily and Remus has fancied a few people but never did anything about it. Peter, well he fancied anyone who would give him attention. But me? I never fancied anyone. Never let myself i guess. Then you....."

I slowly look over at him but he was still looking at the stars, "You called me over to your table in the library and pet my head. You helped me pull pranks. You helped me study. You cheered me on during my Quidditch games. Then you went and had a mental break down twice then lost your emotions," he shook his head and frowned as he stared up at the sky, "You......you confessed to me" 

I didnt know what to say or do so i just stood there and watched him. My heart was pounding and my anxiety was through the roof. I didnt know where he was going with this and i was scared i wouldnt like where this was going. I held out a small bit of hope this would end well for me but i knew better then to hold out too much hope

Finally he looked at me with a soft look, "Your right, there wont be many happy memories. This year and next year could be the last 2 full years we can have loads or good memories or make loads of good memories. I want to enjoy that. Up until we cant. Im not saying ill be any good at this and i probably wont know what to do. However i want those happy memories Lily and James are getting, even if they do end up just being memories down the road. I want those"

I stood there speechless and just watched Sirius. I didnt know what to say or do so i just watched him. Finally he gives me a soft smile then pulls his wand out and waves it. In an instant soft music start to play in the background and i blush slightly as Sirius offer me his hand 

"May i have this dance?"

"I dont know how to dance......" It was so embarrassing but i really didnt. I am a book person not a dancer

"Just follow my lead," he kept his hand out for me and, with slight hesitation, i take his hand and let him pull me close to him. He puts one hand on my hip and kept ahold of my hand. I held his arm and his hand and just watched him as he started to move. I have no clue what i was doing and i stepped on his feet several times yet he just laughed and soon the formal dancing just turned into silly spins and sloppy dancing that made us both laugh and enjoy the night. 

I hadnt expected this to happen but i was glad it had. In my mind the night couldnt get any better, that is till we hit an invisible wall. Looking up there was my mistletoe that has trapped so many people before us now hanging above Sirius and my head. 

"Well, guess there is no backing out now," Sirius say making me look to him. I didnt even have time to properly look at him before he kisses me 

That was the perfect way to end a wonderful night
