Chapter 16

Once Christmas break ended classes started back up in full force and the Professors were not going easy on us. With classes starting back the Marauders also went back to pranking. Non of them bullied anyone, thankfully, but they did go back to doing loads of pranks. Now Lily actually enjoyed them because she saw them as a moment to enjoy and get laughs and distract people. She finally understood why they did pranks, other then the fact that they, and i, found it very fun 

What was even better was Lily even did a prank and got almost every house, minus Slytherin, to agree to it. That was an amazing time that i kept a detailed record of with pictures and detailed writing. She even got the Professors to join in!

"Bud!!" I look up as Sirius comes over to looked panicked, "Can you check and see if there is a jink or charm or something on me or on my ears?"

"Im sorry?" I frown pretending to be confused 

"James and i......everything sounds so much louder especially in the commons room and Great Hall. Tell me you have noticed something going on"

"No i havent....." i acted even more confused as i raise my wand and wave it several times acting like i was checking for different charms and jinks yet i made sure to leave the one Lily put on him, "You seem to be jink and charmed free. Dont know what to tell you love"

He pouts then puts his head on my shoulder making me chuckle softly and slowly run my hands through his hair. It was moments like this i felt bad for lying about the prank but also knew it was just a prank. I was also glad we were alone in the back of the library where no one would see or hear us 

"What if im going mental?" 

"Your not going mental," i gently cup his face and make him look at me, "Maybe your just too stressed. Your over working yourself with all this class work and homework and the up coming final exams and the pranks. You just need a day or two to relax"

"Ya, your probably right," he nods a bit then looks at me and smile, "Ya, i just need to relax"

"Meet me in the Room of Requirement and ill help you relax ok?" 

"Ok," he nods then turns and leaves the library while i watch him leave

Once hes gone i pack my stuff up then leave the library and quickly look for Lily. I eventually find her with her friends outside going over homework

"Ok, i cant do it"

Lily looks up at me surprised then frowns, "Why not? Its just a prank"

"Yes but Sirius came to me freaking out. He is stressing himself too much"

"Just a little bit longer ok?"

"Ill try...."

I leave her and go off to the Room of Requirement and walk in to find Sirius laying on a bed with the room being dead silent. I gently close the door and walk over to Sirius who opens his eyes to look at me

"Feeling a bit better?" I ask him as i sit next to him

"A bit"

Smiling i nod my head, "Lets cuddle"

He didnt object as i laid down and we cuddled in bed. This was only the second time we had cuddled and honestly he relaxed almost instantly this time while last time he was tense for a while. We stayed like this for a wall, till i fell asleep really. I had woken up alone in bed at some point not realizing what time it was. I was a bit upset i woke up alone but i also tried to be understanding 

Getting up i left the Room of Requirements and headed off to the Great Hall, seeing as it was dinner time. I was lucky i woke up when i did other wise i would have had to sneak into the kitchen or wait till morning to eat. What i wasnt expecting, however, was something to fall on my head the moment i walked through the doors of the Great hall. 

Laughter filled the room as i slowly opened my eyes and looked down to see slug slime and slugs all over myself. I slowly lift my head and narrow my eyes to the group of boys laughing the loudest. I made eye contact with Sirius who smirked at me and winked before laughing again. Balling my hands up into fists i look over at Lily angerly and give her a nod. I no longer felt bad about the prank was ready for stage 2

Stage 1 had been to make the boy's hearing increase so everything sounded louder. Everyone else pretended they didnt know what was going on especially when other people would make themselves louder so they would be even louder to the boys. I hadnt done anything like that i just pretended i didnt know what was going on

Now stage 2 was even better and even harder. Everyone had to pretend they didnt see or hear the Marauders at all. Couldnt talk to them, couldnt look at them, nothing. Completely ignore them. 

Now for me this stage was easy because i was angry. It didnt help the slug smell and slime feeling last for a bloody week! I put on a blank look when i walked down the hall and pretended i didnt see them and pretended i didnt hear them talking. More times then i thought possible Sirius came into the library and tried to talk to me. Now that is when it got hard for me because he sounded so sad

"Bud? Come on! Please stop ignoring me!" Sirius whines from the seat in front of me, "Im sorry about the slugs ok? I didnt make it fall on you on poupous i sware. Bud......please?" 

He reached out and touched my hand and i almost broke in that moment when Lily suddenly came in and came over to me grabbing my arm as she whisper shouted at me, "You said youd help me with my potions homework!" 

"Huh? Is it 3 already?"

"Its 3:30!" She whisper shouts at me again making me smile sheepishly at her. It took everything in me not to turn around and look at Sirius 

I noticed James and Sirius were effected the most by being ignored. Peter hated it too but he wasnt as vocal about it. Remus seemed to almost enjoy it. Over all this prank of Lily's lasted a month in total, then she finally let the prank drop

"You know what," Lily says loudly so everyone in the crowded Great Hall could hear her, "I think its been long enough"

Everyone knew what that meant, minus the 4 boys. Instantly everyone turned to look at said boys. They looked around at everyone in surprise before James spoke up

"W-wait....whats going on?"

"You lot enjoy pranks so much i thought we should prank you in a way that would hit you hard. Make you lot think you went mental"

Instantly they seemed to understand and James stared at Lily open mouthed and speechless. I watched Sirius as he turned and looked at me. I gave him a sheepish smile and motion, with my head, at the door. After a moment he nodded once but i couldnt tell what he was thinking

I got up first and headed out of the Great Hall. A few people were leaving here and there so it didnt look weird for me to leave. I went to the Room of Requirement and waited inside. It didnt take Sirius long to get to the room and some in

"I wasnt going to go through with the prank still i got hit with slugs and Lily kept me from telling you," i told him instantly yet he didnt say anything as he comes over and hugged me tightly while putting his face into my neck. I wrapped my arms around him and held him as we stood there silently. I wasnt sure what state of mind he was in at the moment but i had a feeling it wasnt a good one

"Dont do that again.....please......"

I hold him tighter to myself as i kiss the side of his head, "I wont, im sorry Sirius" 

He got a lot more affectionate when we were a lone after that
