Everything was not going to be fine.

Everything, in fact, seemed to escalate further following this, with events seeming to spiral out of control quicker than sand through one's fingers...

Though Felix's method of calming his wife had worked, they still got lectured by the mother for about another half hour before the couple was finally given a break... After which, the rest of the family began arriving, curious about all of the hubbub...

After a quick, discontented explanation from Pepa, that caused the couple to flush brightly out of mild mortification, everyone was soon brought up to speed...

While Pepa seemed bothered by this arrangement, Abuela on the other hand seemed mildly pleased by this new development; using it as a new point in her argument.

"See mija, this is a perfect example of why we should be hosting this event as soon as possible..!" She smirked, patting Pepa on the shoulder.

"Event?" Mariano asked, unknowingly drawing a dangerous amount of attention to himself as he spoke up for the first time since Pepa and him had "reconciled".

Abuela then patiently took the time to explain that they had been busy telling everyone of the welcoming party that she's planned to host for Mariano tomorrow. Which was rather unusual of the matriarch Madrigal...

Mariano was both delighted at the prospect of being welcomed into his shifter's family, and suspicious of the kindness that the Abuela Madrigal seemed to be exuding...

It was rather... odd..?

A few moments following this, Bruno arrived, out of breath as he returned to Casita, joining the rest of the family in their meeting place.

"I hadn't realized... that you guys had left us..." he said between breaths, a small brown rat sitting upon his shoulder.

Mariano had never questioned why his angel's uncle chose to associate with the notorious rodents, they just seemed to suit him, given how mousey many of his characteristics were.

Then the uncle in question turned to Mariano and Camilo, finally examining the situation - a flash of recognition going through his gaze as he did so.

"Aha! See! I told you so!" He exclaimed, looking at Abuela triumphantly, who looked incredibly annoyed by this. "They're meant for each other."

As he said this he looked directly at the pair, smiling warmly, brows creased in fondness. "They're perfect... just like I thought they would be." He whispered, eyes misty.

Abuela looked ever so slightly nervous as he said this; most likely because the past tense words that the seer was using were intriguing choice individuals within their familial audience...

Still he continued, digging himself deeper into the metaphorical hole... "They're gonna make the cutest family once the little feliz sorpresa arrives..!" He grinned at Pepa, who could only stare blankly back at him, eyes as large as saucers.

Bruno's green eyes flashed with mischief as he moved into a mildly teasing tone when addressing his sister. "And someone's gonna be an Abuela..!" He said in a sing-song tone.

Everyone was quiet following this, including the soon-to-be-parents themselves. With Pepa slowly turning to fix the excited pair with a steely glare, which quieted them.

For now at least...

After a beat or so, Bruno finally understood. "Oh. You guys hadn't... figured that part out yet... had you..?" He questioned sheepishly, pressing his fingertips together lightly before transitioning into jazz hands as he continued to speak.

"Surprise..!" He said nervously, finally meeting his mother's eyes as he did so...

Abuela was scowling harshly at the green-clad Madrigal, having let all of her cats out of the bag at once. "Wha..? I-! HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THEY DIDN'T KNOW..?!" He questioned aloud, hands in his hair.

"I thought now was the time I was supposed to tell them! At least I thought that was what I saw..!" Bruno exclaimed, biting down on his fingers as he anxiously began to pace.

Wait.

"You had a vision about us?" Mariano asked softly; with Camilo, who was equally as confused, eyed his lover, who was determined to ask his question to the older male, crazy soon-to-be-mother-in-law be damned...

"Uuuhhh, well... yes... yes I did..." Bruno admitted, tugging at one of his loose curls that was within his reach. "But it was a while ago and CLEARLY I'm getting a few of the minor details wrong." He said.

"Minor?!?" Abuela retorted. "The order of events in a vision isn't a "minor" thing to forget Brunito!" She exclaimed, hands on her hips as she said these words.

Bruno then raised his hands in surrender as he replied. "I'm sorry mami, if I had known they hadn't found out yet I would never have told them..!" He said earnestly, his eyes wide with remorse.

Abuela muttered something rather unbecoming under her breath, Mariano ignoring this, only having eyes for his chameleon; the gorgeous ray of sunshine that was currently beaming up at him.

This incredible boy beside him who, at the moment, carried an even bigger blessing than his own natural powers...

He was carrying a miracle...
