The first thing that was done was to retrieve umbrellas for the family in order to prepare for the oncoming storm... though Pepa's rain had managed to calm to a drizzle.

Abuela was initially heavily against the idea of Camilo and Mariano being together. Outright refusing Mariano's initial request for his hand.

Then, when Dolores stepped in, explaining how Mariano had convinced her and that she supported him, with Isabela backing them up proving to be the tipping point...

"Fine. I will approve of this relationship..." Abuela began. "Provided that Camilo continues the family bloodline by bearing future madrigals. As someone has to." Abuela stated firmly.

Camilo managed to both pale and flush slightly at this, shifting nervously through a few forms with Pepa thundering audibly in the background at this request...

Though proper respect was still upheld by the family and no one outrightly declined her decision, which Mariano attempted not to look too pleased with...

"Mami, I'm not five anymore..." Camilo said as he attempted to convince his mother afterwards with her nervously cuddling him.

"I can make my own decisions now." He said, reaching for her hand and weaving their fingers together in a comforting gesture.

"I promise you can trust me with your son..." Mariano interrupted, stating this firmly. "I know exactly how important he is... to all of you; and I would never do anything to hurt him..."

Pepa looked unconvinced at this statement, though his next one tipped her over the edge...

"And don't worry, when it comes to being careful when being... intimate... we're practically experts by now." Mariano said with a chuckle, before immediately regretting the words as they left his mouth.

"Experts..? At being intimate." Pepa repeated dangerously... From behind her Camilo mouthed the word idiot while his eyes screamed for him to run, though Mariano hardly needed to be told.

Screaming was done. Shoes were thrown. And a few lightning bolts nearly found their target as the mother cursed at him in rapid Spanish, standing protectively in front of Camilo.

A few minutes later and everything now seemed... ok..?

Pepa was sitting with her 'baby' next to her, petting his hair and asking him gentle questions occasionally...

"Are you alright..? Did he hurt you..!?! At all?!?" She hummed softly in between her words as she spoke, reminding Mariano of the shifter's older sister...

"And YOU!!!" She turned back to Mariano at this, who had nearly caught his breath. "Already so eager to fulfill "Abuela's wishes" and CONTINUE THE MADRIGAL FAMILY! AREN'T YOU!" She growled, enraged, momma bear mode kicking in.

"Uh..! I meant that-!" Mariano began before being cut off by the furious mother. "I don't want to hear it!" She said, her expression deadly.

The rain within the Casita quickly returned and spread out further, this time bringing lightning along with it, meaning everyone had to leave the Casita to take cover outside.

The family had attempted, on multiple occasions, to pacify the weather-powered Madrigal, but Pepa was far beyond reason by this point.

She spent the better part of an hour cussing and yelling at Mariano while clutching a frightened Camilo up against her, whispering sweet nothings to him as he attempted to calm her.

"How dare you touch him! ¡Maldito hijo de puta bastardo! ¡Espero que ardas en los fuegos del infierno por toda la eternidad!" She snarled, fury lacing her tone.

"It was only one time mami!" Camilo tried to soothe her, petting her hair gently as she cried on his shoulder. "And I'm fine, see?"

He pulled her away for a moment to look directly at her, holding her face in his hands and brushing away any stray tears. "I'm ok mami." He whispered, smiling softly.

She blinked rapidly at her little chameleon, clearly still upset by this knowledge, hiccuping softly as she embraced him, trying to settle herself.

After a few moments of relaxation it almost seemed as though she could finally resume her normal breathing cycle and weather patterns.

Of course, Mariano decided to choose this terrible time to approach the older Madrigal, speaking quietly to the mother once he was close enough.

"Would now be a bad time to ask if I could speak to Cami alone, just for a moment..? He said, nervously scratching the back of his neck.

He asked this sweetly, with no ulterior motives behind his gentle words, while his shifter rapidly made a cutting motion from behind his mother as she registered his question.

Well this was certainly not going to go well...
