The couple had spent a relatively normal night, sleeping in their separate rooms under the constant supervalance of the shifter's mother; who at least wanted them to abstain from now until marriage...
A promise that both of them had subtly seemed rather eager to break...
When Mariano both joined the rest of the family at breakfast the next morning he was pleased to find that all of the Madrigal children made a conscious effort to save the seat next to him for Camilo when he arrived.
Less so when Pepa herself caught on and occupied it herself, leaving the chameleon to sit across from him...
He inwardly sighed, he couldn't complain... after all, he wasn't dead...
Mirabel, who was on his left, gave a small chuckle at her tia's petty antics, giving Mariano a sympathetic smile afterwards.
He spent the majority of the meal observing the gorgeous creature across from him from afar.
The way those gorgeous ringlets elegantly framed his perfect face, his warm eyes constantly filled with love for those around him...
He exuded an effortless appeal that Mariano found unbelievably attractive...
He tried to capture the other male's attention, as he was currently talking to Luisa, sending him a risque look when he finally met the other's gaze.
Mariano took the opportunity to act since no one was paying attention at the moment...
Mariano grinned sexily at the other, licking his spoon seductively just to enjoy the way the shifter's face erupted in flames, eyes darting around the table to see if anyone had noticed.
He was so adorable...
At least Mariano had thought no one was paying attention...
To his right Pepa had leaned over the table slightly, facing Mariano with a dangerous look in her eyes, having easily noticed where his eyes were lingering and his current actions.
He quickly attempted to make his spectacle as un-sexual as possible putting the entire spoon in his mouth in an effort to look as if he were just casually eating as per usual.
His chameleon's mother, however, was not so easily fooled...
"You can eat your food regularly," she began. "Preferably without objectifying my son; or, I can show you where else you can shove that spoon..!"
Although she hissed this quietly, still conscious of Antonio, who was next to her, the threatening undertone of her words still encouraged him to eat as normally as possible following this.
He also had to attempt to avoid making eye contact with Dolores, who having heard the entire ordeal, was struggling not to laugh for the remainder of the meal.
Once everyone was finished eating and the dishes had been removed by Casita, with Isabela and Mirabel leaving the table to tend to the dishwashing.
Abuela made a short motivational speech about the chores for the day, which Mariano wasn't really listening to, as he was lost in thought elsewhere.
Once everyone had ended with the traditional chorus of "The Family Madrigal'', everyone moved to rise from the table.
Mariano, confused about what he was supposed to be doing now, swiftly followed after the shifter as he left to get started on his chore list.
The chameleon was fast on his feet however, causing Mariano to have to move more quickly to achieve the same pace as him.
It was a beautiful day, there was a faint breeze blowing outside, the sun was bright and the air was warm and light.
Camilo, who had paused in the road, to allow the other male to catch up, looked breathtaking from this point of view...
The way the sunlight bounced off of the other's curls, his golden poncho rustling slightly in the wind...
He looked as if he had been made just to exist for the visual appreciation of others, the way he soaked up the sunshine and reflected it off of his lustrous tanned skin...
He was captivating...
"Uhhhh, angel?" Mariano began, finally catching up with the sunny male who hummed questioningly in response, falling into step with the other male as he walked beside him.
"Where exactly are we going..?" He asked this with a broad grin on his face, not missing the opportunity to place an arm around the shifter's waist, pulling the other into his side.
"I'm going to do my chores for the day." Camilo giggled, playfully attempting to disentangle himself from the other as they walked.
Mariano, however, would not let his chameleon escape so easily; hoisting the smaller male over his shoulder as he attempted to squirm away.
The Madrigal squealed in surprise as he was lifted up, smiling happily as he pounded on the other's back.
"Stop it! I'm supposed to be working..!" He laughed as he was carried along the path towards the town.
Mariano couldn't help but remember the last time he'd carried the shifter like this, when all he had wanted to do was to touch him...
To toy with the forbidden flame...
And now he could touch him as freely as his heart desired.
He could fly as close to the sun as he dared...
