Falling for the Warlock- Jasper Hale

Meeting the family

I woke up next to Jasper realizing that he didn't move all night, I quietly slipped out of his arms before throwing some water on my face in the bathroom and brushing my teeth. I walked back into my room before grabbing my water bottle off my desk and taking a sip. I sat at the desk and looked through my phone answering some texts from friends. 

I saw Jasper sit up before I smiled at him making him look at me before I asked "is there anything I should know about your family before I visit them?" 

Jasper thought for a minute before saying "yeah, Edward's a mind reader that can't turn it off so you get no privacy."  

"I can easily fix that," I spoke. "I have the ability to make shields with my magic so I can shield my mind and anyone else's that needs it or wants it." Jasper looked at me stunned before smiling then moving so that he could kiss me to which I immediately deepened the kiss making both of us smile. 

He pulled back sighing before saying "there's me who's an empath but the newest on the vegetarian diet that I always seem to struggle with. I've had the most slips."

I thought about it for a minute before saying "wait a minute, you're an empath right?" He nodded "so you can feel emotions as well does that include vampires?"

He looked at me stunned before nodding. "Then isn't bloodlust an emotion? Granted, one only vampires feel, but still an emotion none the less." 

He was stunned into silence and was silent for a couple of minutes flat before saying "holy shit, you're right. Bloodlust is an emotion. Every time I slipped wasn't when I was alone it was when I was with someone else." I nodded as Jasper projected his happiness and his elation which made me smile glad that I could help him. 

He took a deep unneeded breath before he continued "Alice has premonitions but they're not set in stone. She saw me coming in that diner and saw you in Forks but any of that could have changed.  Ben is her mate and is a tracker meaning that he can track anyone he's come in contact with.  Esme is our mother for all intents and purposes, Carlisle is our father figure and he has amazing control as he's a doctor. Then there is Emmett who is my brother and one of the only family members I get along with he has strength. He's mated to Rosalie who's my twin and has no gift other than beauty and an ability to be blunt and sarcastic like no other." 

I nodded before speaking "they seem to be quite a nice and interesting family. I can't wait to meet them." 

"Are you sure? They can be a little overbearing." Jasper seemed more than a little worried about it. 

I nodded "yeah, I'm sure. Look you're my mate and that carries meaning for warlocks as well, ok?" He nodded before he leaned forward and kissed me running his hand through my short hair.  

We then both got up and got ready after I gave Jasper some of my spare clothes seeing as we were roughly the same size. He couldn't seem to keep his hands off me, but it wasn't like I was complaining. It made sense considering how a vampire's mate is their one in a million shot. Not to mention the fact that if anything were to happen to the mate the vampire would lose their minds. 

Jasper would probably be extremely jealous, possessive, and protective until we finish and complete the mating bond. I was the same way, I loved touching and affection so it wasn't like I was going to complain. 

Later that afternoon, we had decided to head to Jasper's house and just bite the bullet so to speak that way I can meet his family. I hopped into my mustang and Jasper got into his car before he told me to follow him to which I nodded about. 

We drove for about ten minutes never really dipping under eighty miles per hour. I smiled as I continued thinking of Jasper and how my life was about to change after just one day of his family being in town. 

We pulled into a grassy hidden driveway which made sense considering the fact that all of them were vampires and didn't want anyone to see them. I drove the long driveway until I reached the house then pulled in to the driveway beside Jasper's car before parking it and getting out. 

I got out of the car and looked at Jasper "do you want me to shield you while I'm here?" He nodded to which I put my hand in front of me letting the magic that constantly flowed through my veins physically show up in it's black and gold form. I put my hand in front of him before concentrating on a barrier in his mind then waved my hand across his head. I pulled my hand back as he smiled moving to kiss me again before pulling back and interlocking our hands. 

We walked in and I was immediately hit with how beautiful the inside of the house was. It had open spaces with large windows making me smile at how pretty it was. I was pulled out of my thoughts as the rest of the family walked into the living room. 

I squeezed Jasper's hand tighter as they all introduced themselves but Edward the mind reader seemed stunned and was just staring at me and Jasper. Jasper sensing this spoke up "what Edward? Why do you keep staring at us?" 

"I'm sorry," Edward spoke. "It's just that I wasn't expecting your mate to be male. Not to mention why can't I read either of your minds."

"I've always been bisexual," Jasper spoke before I could. "And as for the mind reading that would be.." 

"Me," I interrupted him. "It's me that's doing it considering I figured that Jasper would like some privacy."
