That night after dinner I headed over to the Cullens with my mustang and was greeted at the door by Jasper with a kiss. I looked at him "ok I know what she is thinking but I can't stay long." He nodded as he quickly called the rest of the family into the living room before I spoke "she saw Edward's eyes change color and is extremely intrigued about it. I mean she even asked dad and me about you guys but didn't get answers out of either of us."
They nodded before I headed home after they told me that they would find a way to handle it. I drove back to the house and pulled into the driveway before heading inside and up to the attic where my room was. I changed into shorts and fell on my bed before hearing a tap at the window. I turned and saw Jasper before I smiled and waved my hand to open the window and let him in.
He came to join me on the bed and wrapped his arms around me making me smile before saying "I think that we have decided that we're just going to wait it out and see how it goes."
I nodded "do you think that Edward is going to be capable of keeping away from his blood singer?"
He moved closer to me before saying "not a shot. Blood singers are extremely hard to ignore and Edward already doesn't have the best control."
I nodded "speaking of control, is your gift better after drinking human blood once a month?"
"Yeah, I am." He nodded as he spoke "I've got more control of my gift and my blood lust which makes me really happy and glad." I nodded as he leaned over to kiss me before leaving for the night but not before saying that he would see me tomorrow. I watched him leave with a smile on my face just thinking about how lucky I was to have him in my life.
I fell asleep thinking about Jasper but then had the weirdest dream that caused an awful feeling inside of me and the dream started like this. I heard the sound of thunder as the sky darkened and I saw three red eyed vampires: a red headed women, an African American man with dreadlocks and another man with a ponytail and his fangs bared. He seemed to be dating the women. I saw them lunge before I woke up panting and checked the clock which showed that it was only three am.
I drank some of my water from my water bottle before falling back asleep fitfully. I woke up the next morning to Bella rustling around in the kitchen for something. I did my morning routine before getting dressed and pulling on my leather jacket and grabbing my keys. I was still shaken and reeling from the dream I had last night but I walked outside and noticed that it snowed and iced over last night, I watched as Bella came out of the house, walked down the stairs and promptly fell on her butt making me laugh hard.
She got up before getting into her truck as I started my mustang and we both made that drive to school. I pulled in like usual next to the Cullens cars, I smiled as I saw Jasper leaning against the Volvo. I parked the car, got out and looked at the Cullens who were now all standing there and staring at something. I turned around to see Bella getting out of her car but then gasped seeing that Tyler had lost control of his car. I watched stunned as Edward raced forward and pushed her out of the way. I looked from where I was standing next to Jasper and saw that all of his siblings were less than pleased about it.
We all followed them to the hospital where Bella was checked out and seemed completely and totally fine. After Edward and Bella headed out into the hallway, I looked at the other Cullens and Hales next to me "she is not going to let this go. I have a feeling that your secret is not going to remain a secret for very long."
All of them nodded especially when we caught the sound coming from the hallway ""I saved your life–I don't owe you anything...You think I lifted a van off you?...I hope you enjoy your disappointment." We could only hear Edward's side of it though which definitely did not do anything to ease anyone's nerves.
I looked at them "I'll try to do what I can if she asks but I know her and she is one of the nosiest people that I have ever met. She most likely will not give up until she gets the truth." They nodded before we all headed to the cars.
Jasper jumped in mine telling his family that he would ride back with me. I nodded before starting the car and taking off. He looked at me "are you shielding Bella?"
I glanced at him before glancing back at the road "what? No, I'm not shielding her why?"
He sighed "I had hoped that you were. Edward can not read Bella's mind meaning that he's going to find her all the more intriguing and less likely to stay away from her."
"I have a bad feeling about this Jasper."
He nodded showing that he was feeling the same way before saying "if this starts to be a danger to you I will stop it in any way I know how."
I nodded "I will as well. I'm just worried because she's human and Edward does not particularly want to change anyone which is most likely going to bring the Volturi and gain their attention." He sighed knowing that I was right before we pulled in to their house and got out knowing that Edward was probably in for a shouting match especially from Rosalie.
