Bella dragged me along to warn the wolves of the rangers that were coming after them because they thought they were bears. Bella didn't know that I had already texted Paul and Sam who knew and had pulled the others from their patrols and weren't allowing any of them to go out in their shifted form.
When we pulled up at the Rez I immediately headed inside to meet Sam as I said hi to Emily who was on the porch. Bella ended up talking with Jacob, while I spoke to Sam and Paul. They both looked at me before saying "of course she found out." I actually busted out laughing at that because my sister was definitely one of the most nosy people in this whole world.
"You should have expected that Paul," I spoke out in between my laughs. "I mean Jake is basically her lap dog and is willing to do whatever for her. If you're not careful it's going to get you all killed." Paul and Sam nodded promising me that they would be careful about getting involved with her which made me smile.
Sam informed me that Jared and Embry had heard from Jake through the telepathic communication of the pack and Paul groaned "great, he told her about that too." I snorted as I realized that this was very much one of the reasons that Paul and I were friends considering he's sarcastic as all hell.
The three of us headed outside where the entire pack showed up in the their human forms and I said hi to a couple of them as we waited for Jake to start talking. "Bella knows who the vampire is."
"Yeah, I do too," I spoke quite angrily. "Considering I nearly died the last time she was involved. Her names Victoria and she's after Bella because Edward, Jasper, and I killed her mate."
Paul chuckled "you killed a vampire? Nice." He had refrained from calling the Cullens leeches around me considering he kind of liked Jasper, Rosalie, and Emmett. I smiled at Paul and high fived him at that.
I then turned around and looked at Sam who shrugged as Bella spoke to me as she glared "why do the wolves like you better than me. She's after you too."
I scoffed "you got to be kidding me Bella. I killed James and used my magic to protect you the entire time." Bella glared and I continued going "not to mention, I can handle Victoria and protect myself you on the other hand can't protect shit." Paul and Sam both snorted along with the others which made me laugh. "Not to mention, you are the nosiest person on planet earth and have to know everything about everything which pisses people off."
Jacob looked at me "come on Sebastian, she's your sister. Can you please be nice at some point?"
Before I could answer Paul did for me "why should he have to help and do anything considering the fact that this is your mess."
Bella shrugged "because he's the mate to Jasper."
"Are you kidding me Bella?" Paul spoke angry as I placed a hand on his arm "Sebastian lost his entire family and is always in danger from vampires because of his powers and blood. He is not your personal shield that you can use to shift the attention from you. Jasper himself warned you that if you get him killed, you will not survive. Now, I'm warning you. If you get Sebastian killed I will not help you."
Jake growled at Paul's statement before shifting forcing Paul to shift as they headed into the woods. All of us sigh and go back into the house as Bella looked at all of us "will Jake be alright?"
I sighed "Jake and Paul will both be fine physically but their bond will be damaged and it's because of you. You by being here is putting the pack in danger because you can't protect yourself meaning they have to pay attention to you instead of taking care of each other and themselves."
Bella sighed but said nothing which was a blessing considering her voice sounded like nails on a chalkboard. Jake and Paul returned a while later and I smiled as both of them came back perfectly fine. Paul came over to me and took the orange juice out of my hand making me groan but smile at him nonetheless.
Later as I was laying in bed at home after spending the day with the pack, I realized that spending time with the pack had helped the ache in my chest by helping to distract me from Jasper and the thought of him but it was worse at night. I felt my phone buzz as it was laying next to me and as I answered it I heard Jasper say hello.
I smiled at that although he couldn't hear me "hi babe."
Jasper spoke to me "what's going on?"
I sighed "Bella found out about the shifters and Victoria is back. She's got the wolves on the lookout for her." Jasper groaned and I laughed "I know exactly what I thought. Paul ripped her a new one which made me smile and laugh."
I heard Jasper through the phone "I ripped into Carlisle, and Edward for making us leave." I smiled at that "as for Victoria just be careful and if it's a choice between protecting you or Bella, protect yourself."
I smiled "I will. I love you."
He laughed "I love you too. I'll be back soon no matter what the rest of the family says." We hung up and not for the first time did I find myself thanking whatever god existed that they brought Jasper to me considering he was everything I ever wanted.
