A couple of days later, all of us had just graduated and were now at the party that Alice insisted on hosting for their what had to be fiftieth graduation by now. I currently had a pretty bad headache from all of the overwhelming bad feelings that were happening, so I was leaning pretty heavily on Jasper, who definitely didn't mind. He leaned down and whispered to me "are you okay?"
I nodded not having the energy to physically answer him back with my pounding head. I appreciated that he was taking as much pain from me as he could and talking as quietly as he could to me. As Bella arrived, Edward rushed to greet her and I rolled my eyes given he had just seen her an hour ago.
Suddenly, Jacob and some of the others from La Push showed up and I smiled slightly at seeing Paul. I could see a fight about to break out as Bella stepped in between them. Alice then revealed "I saw something. All of the Cullens are going to Seattle."
Jake looked at everyone "what's going on?"
"A newborn army has been created," I stepped in and spoke up standing to the side with Jasper. Jake looked at me as I continued "they were in our house and stole some of Bella's clothes to get her scent."
Paul and Jake both looked equally annoyed at that information before Jake spoke "it is our job to protect Forks so the wolves are going to be involved."
I thought about it and realized that it would more than double our numbers just as Alice must have seen what he meant "I think it's an excellent idea."
I nodded "I agree. It would give us the numbers not to mention the wolves' sole purpose is to protect the town from vampires."
I could tell Jasper was thinking about it and I saw the moment that he realized we were right. He sighed before looking at Jake and the wolves, "there is a strategic meeting tonight if you want to come."
Jake looked at Paul who nodded and then Jake turned back to us "we'll be there."
Jasper nodded as Bella protested "no"
I snorted "this is what the wolves are meant to do and what they want to do. I don't think you have a say." Paul and Jake both nodded in thanks to me before leaving.
Later that night or more like morning considering it was 3 a.m. we all met at the baseball clearing from last year. Less than five minutes after we arrived, the pack arrived in full force and in wolf form.
Alice was currently frustrated as she was blind because of the wolves which made me laugh a little. Edward was currently acting as a translator because he was the only one who could hear them in their wolf form but I could tell that none of the wolves were at all happy about having Edward in their heads.
I moved from beside Jasper as Paul looked about a minute from lunging at Edward. "If the wolves would like I can shut their minds to Edward and translate for them." I had projected my voice and my thoughts to them and everyone.
I heard Paul in my head asking Sam to accept it. The wolf that was larger than the others looked at me and I heard Sam accept it in my head. I nodded and let my magic spread out. Layers of black mixed with gold moved around the wolves. Some of the younger ones shifted but other than that didn't move.
When I pulled the magic back I looked at Edward "can you hear them?"
He begrudgingly shook his head "no." I turned to the wolves as they all whispered thank you to me before turning back to pay attention to Jasper. I watched as Jasper explained how strong newborns were and how if they got their hands around you then they could most definitely break most of your bones.
Jasper called Emmett up and I knew that the two were just going to be having fun with it. Jasper looked at everyone "Emmett is closer in strength to the newborns." Emmett ran to Jasper who immediately caught him.
He motioned to me next, I looked at him "abilities or no abilities?"
Jasper shrugged "how about one round without abilities and one round with?" I nodded my agreement before we went for each other not holding back because we knew that the newborns wouldn't either.
In less than five minutes I had gotten Jasper in a headlock poised to take his head off. I heard the wolves in my mind marvel at my fighting skills before Jasper and I set up again this time prepared to use our abilities.
This fight lasted even shorter than the others ones as I used my magic to make Jasper see his worst fears as I snuck up on him and grabbed his neck. I pulled back and released the magic hold on him before he surprised me with his desperate lunge to kiss me. I gladly returned the kiss before heading back to my spot as Edward glared at me for no reason.
At the end of the training, the wolves all left but Jacob stayed behind. He shifted back and it was silent for a minute before Edward suddenly spoke to everyone "Jacob's idea is to mask the scent of Bella with his." I was impressed with the idea and I could tell that Jasper was too. I was more stunned that Jacob and Edward had managed to have a civil conversation.
It was then that Edward and Bella moved off a little out of our earshot before they came back. Edward looked at us "you're going to have to fight without me." Jasper looked confused as Edward spoke again "Bella has asked me to sit out."
All of us looked at each other stunned and confused. I couldn't take it anymore and finally snapped. Every bit of anger I ever had at Edward and Bella was coming out. "How dare you?" Edward and Bella both jumped at my loud and stern voice. "You were the ones that killed James."
Edward interrupted "wait a minute, you're the one that flung him around like a rag doll."
"Because you were stupid enough to bring a human to their attention." I seethed as Jasper came to stand next to me not even trying to calm me down because he knew they deserved it. "So let me get this straight. We're fighting a battle that you started and you're just going to sit in a cave while we do the work for you." Edward looked scandalized but I didn't really care right now. "Now, because of you selfish dumbasses, you're going to get everybody killed."
I felt Jasper's hand on my shoulder and calmed down a little as I kept glaring at Edward and Bella before just rolling my eyes and walking away not willing to look at them any longer because I might do something that I would regret.
