Jasper and I sped down the stairs as soon as we heard Rosalie yell for everyone in the house. I watched as Jacob tried to calm her while Edward got a syringe with his venom ready. Carlisle gave her morphine as Rosalie cut into Bella. Within seconds the girl is out of Bella's body as Bella looks at the baby "Renesmee."
I gasped as Bella's heart stopped and Jacob immediately started CPR as Edward injected his venom into her heart. We all then watched as Edward bit into her pulse points making sure the venom worked its way through her body. Although I was the only one who knew the truth, Bella would become a vampire but she would become one without a gift.
As I thought that, not for the first time was I glad that Edward couldn't hear my thoughts or Alice see my future. Jasper looked at me in confusion as I'm sure he was feeling my emotions. I just shook my head indicating that I would tell him later.
I was distracted by Jacob moving closer to the child. He looked transfixed as soon as he saw her. It took me a moment but it was then that I realized what happened. Jacob had imprinted on Renesmee.
As we all separated and Edward went outside to talk to Jacob about Renesmee and the imprint, I was pulled to Jasper's room by Jazz. Jasper turned around and looked at me "all right, spill it." When I just looked at him he rolled his eyes "what did you do? Why was I feeling pride and smugness coming from you?"
I looked around before waving my hand and soundproofing the room as an extra precaution. I looked back at Jazz and sighed "I found a spell in my grimoire called the vampire reduction spell." His eyes widened but he stayed silent. "It's essentially a spell where it takes away her powers. She'll be a vampire but she won't be a shield anymore or have any power."
"Why did you do it?"
I looked at him "Bree." Jazz raised his eyebrows as I continued "she doesn't deserve a mate like Edward but she deserves a chance to make that choice herself. I read that mental shields can block mate bonds and sometimes if that shield is still human but has residual venom in them, their latent abilities can be amplified."
I could tell that Jasper was thinking through everything that I had said. His eyes suddenly widened "when James bit her and Edward sucked out the venom some of it had already been in there long enough to make her power stronger."
I nodded as we both just remained fucking stunned at everything that was happening. Jazz walked up to me and sighed "I don't blame you and I think you made the right choice. Give Bree and Edward the choice without anyone or anything interfering." He pulled me in and attached our lips as I sighed into him.
We stuck around and waited for three days as Bella changed in complete silence. I knew that Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper, and I had some begrudging respect for that considering transformations hurt like a bitch.
I barely remembered mine, all I know is that it wasn't as bad as it could have been mainly because of my magic but also because Jasper refused to leave my side and had been pumping happy and calming emotions into me twenty-four-seven.
So there we all were three days later and I suddenly heard Bella's heart beating a million miles a minute and I knew that she was going to be waking up soon. Most of us headed downstairs just being ready for anything as we had no idea how she was going to react to us. I hoped that she would attack which would give me some reasons to rip her limbs off.
We all held unnecessary breaths as she sat up and took everything in with her new vampire eyes. Edward himself seemed stunned before she got up and hugged him. I noticed that he was pulling away from her a little and I had an idea of why but I kept my mouth shut.
Jasper was impressed that Bella did not attack anyone given that she was only a couple of hours old. I however had to try so hard to hold in a snort at the way that Edward was looking at Bella. Before anyone else could say anything Alice took Bella out for her first hunt as Edward stayed with us and Renesmee. If Alice thought that Edward not wanting to go on Bella's first hunt with her was weird she didn't say anything.
Edward looked at me "what did you do?" He moved forward and Jasper stepped in front of me even though I didn't really need his protection much anymore. "Why can I read her mind?"
