Engaged, Long Night, and Big Day

The date for the wedding of my horrible annoyance of a sister and the mind rapist was drawing closer. I had gotten used to the fact that I was a vampire and realized that I had kept my powers but also had become a fear manipulator. I had pretty much become a master of my new powers along with Emmett and Rosalie. 

Jasper barely left my side anymore and I knew that it was because he had actually seen my dead body. Even though he knew that I was changing it had still shaken him to the core. I didn't blame him considering I most likely would have been the same way. 

It was still weird to me that I no longer needed to breathe, drink water, eat, or sleep like humans. That day, Jasper was reading as I lay on his lap before he looked at me. He suddenly spoke up "how do you feel about marriage?" 

I looked at him stunned "I've never thought about it." I sat up and looked even more at him. "I've always been too scared to trust people considering when my kind trusts people, they generally get hurt." 

"And now?" 

I studied him for a moment and saw that he looked genuinely curious but also there was an emotion that I couldn't describe or name in his eyes. "I would be happy to be married to you mainly because I trust you and I know that you're not using me for my powers." I placed a hand on his cheek before rubbing my thumb over his cheek "not to mention that you are my mate and you have spent the entire time since we met doing whatever possible to protect me."

He smiled at that before taking a breath and reaching into his pocket. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him confused before my eyes widened as he pulled out a ring box. He looked at me "I've had this in my pocket since before the fight but I never had the time or the courage to ask." My eyes widened even further. "I've never felt like this before with anyone. You're not just my best friend but you're my other half. I was lost before you and I swear to you that I will love you until the end of time and even longer." He held the ring out to me and I noticed that it was a simple black band "will you marry me?"

I looked at him for a second and smiled "yes, absolutely I will marry you." He smiled and slipped the ring onto my finger before I looked at him and shook my head in complete disbelief. He then put his hand on my neck and brought me into a kiss. 

He pulled back after a minute and looked around "want to go upstairs and avoid the groomzilla and the alicezilla?" 

I nodded "I have no fucking clue how Ben can stand when she's like this." 

"Me neither," he chuckled as he got off the couch before holding out a hand to me which I gladly took then led me up the stairs to his room. We walked in and I waved my hand muttering a spell that soundproofed the entire room. 

We collapsed on the bed as Jasper lay next to me. I turned to him and smiled "I can't believe you asked me to marry you." 

"Why not?" He looked at me seriously. "You are my best friend. My family. The one person outside of Rose and Emmett that I know has my best interest at heart and will have my back." 

I shook my head in amazement and a little bit of disbelief "I love you so goddamn much." 

He chuckled "I love you too." I took off the soundproofing on the room as we didn't need it anymore. We stayed like that wrapped up together and just enjoying being with each other for the entire night, especially after the engagement. Honestly, we were also just trying to avoid that awful wedding of two people that we didn't particularly like. 

The next morning we were immediately accosted by the sound of Alice lecturing Bella on why she had to wear heels at like seven in the morning which was entirely too early even for vampires. I groaned and rubbed my eyes before looking back at Jasper "we should probably go before Alicezilla decides to come and make us go." 

He nodded "I know." He then paused before looking at me "what do you want to tell the others about the engagement?"

"Let's tell them," I spoke immediately. "I don't give a fuck what any of them think. Especially not Bella and Edward." He smiled and kissed me before we got up and got dressed. I put on jeans and a black shirt while he put on jeans and a henley. 

We walked downstairs and saw the girls fussing and getting Bella ready while the other guys were presumably with Edward. Rose was the first to see us and also the first to see the ring on my finger. She smiled "see brother, I told you he'd say yes." 

I was confused for a minute before turning to Jazz "you were scared I wouldn't say yes?" 

He nodded "you can't blame me. If you weren't mates with me you wouldn't have been dragged into this newborn thing and you wouldn't be a vampire not that I'm not happy that you are. I was scared that you wouldn't want to marry me because of that." 

I moved closer to him "hey, there is no reason on earth that I wouldn't marry you. Even if I have to put up with the mind rapist and never having privacy." He chuckled as I sighed "not to mention that I can still do magic so we have that privacy. But seriously, nothing your family could drag me into would make me not want to marry you." He smiled even wider and kissed me. 

We pulled away and went outside to help the others. There were going to be quite a few humans at the wedding so me and Jasper had both gone to Seattle for our monthly human blood feedings that not only kept our gifts strong but also so we didn't lose control. 

Edward and Emmett saw my ring at the same time and Emmett immediately broke out into a massive grin while Edward turned to us "seriously, you have to take everything don't you." All three of us looked at him confused "first you rendered my powers useless then you and Jasper mocked me and Bella by having your relationship without the fear of hurting each other and now you get engaged on our wedding day." 

I knew Jasper was close to telling Edward that he was right just because he knew Alice would kill him for fighting on Bella's wedding day but I frankly was too pissed to give a fuck. I looked at Edward "listen here. We all refer to you as a mind rapist because that's what you are. I rendered your powers useless on us because we'd like to have our privacy, second I died and became a vampire because of your refusal to do anything with common sense or by yourself. And now, Jasper watched me die and actually had to change me while I was dying so excuse him for not waiting any longer to ask me to marry him. Oh, and he asked me to marry him yesterday." 

I surged forward and ripped off his hand while he screamed. Then waved my hand and black streams of magic came from my hand and surrounded Edward. It then pulled back and I smirked: "there now you really can't use your powers." He looked at me confused "I blocked them and only I can unblock them. Talk down to me fine but ever talk down to Jasper like that again and I will rip off your limbs." 

I left the hand with Emmett and walked with Jasper to our seats. I watched my sister get married to Edward and wondered not for the first time what the hell my bitch of a sister saw in the mind rapist, controlling a hundred-year-old virgin.
