By the time we got to the high school, it was dark. We quickly made our way to the doors of the school. Max got the key labeled school and unlocked the door. The four of us walked through the dark hallways of the school with our flashlights being the only light.
"Dustin do you copy?" The walkie went off.
Nancy and Robin must have found something. Dustin grabbed it out if his bag and popped the antenna to its full length. I flashed my light at my old locker as we passed by it.
"Yeah, I copy." Dustin responded.
"So, Nancy's a genius." Robin spoke through the walkie. "Vecna's first victim dates back all the way to 1959. Her shot in the dark was a bullseye."
"Okay, that's totally bonkers, but I can't really talk right now." Dustin informed the girls.
"What are you doing?"
"Breaking and entering in the school to retrieve confidential and extremely personal files." Dustin looked over his shoulder to make sure no one was behind us.
"Can you repeat that?" Robin asked.
"Just get your ass over here, stat. We'll explain everything." Dustin said.
"Tell them to go through the door close to the gym. It should still be unlocked, right Max?" I looked at the girl. She gave me a nod.
"When you come, enter through the door close to the gym. It's unlocked." Dustin told them before slamming the antenna of the walkie back.
"Here it is." Max got the keys out of her pocket.
She looked around to make sure the coast was clear and unlocked the door. Max opened the office door and walked in. We followed suit, my light flashing around the office. Max went straight to the filing cabinet.
"It's like a mini-Watergate or something." Dustin muttered. "Hawkinsgate."
"Wait a second. Didn't those guys get caught?" Steve spoke lowly.
"Holy shit." Max said, already thumbing through the files.
"You found it?" Steve walked towards the cabinets.
