Quietly, we made our way back to the trailer. My brows furrowed when I didn't see Dustin or Eddie. I looked up at the gate to see it empty. Robin called out their names. No answer. Fear flooded my veins. I glanced at Steve to see him wearing the same expression.

"Dustin!" I called out, running out of the trailer. Steve and the others were behind me. "Dustin! Eddie!"

"Dustin!"

"Eddie!"

"Dawn!" Dustin's voice cracked, laced with desperation.

I picked up my pace and followed his voice. Steve called out my name, asking me to slow down. Adrenaline and worry told me otherwise. My little brother was kneeling on the ground with Eddie dead on his lap. Tears were streaming down his face. Dustin looked up at me helplessly.

"He didn't run away. He-he tricked me into going back into the gate and he distracted the bats- and...and." Dustin broke down into tears.

"Oh God." Steve said he stopped next to me.

"Come here, Dustin." My lower lip wobbled as I stared at Eddie. Dustin slowly nodded, gently laying Eddie on the floor. He got up with a sob and ran into my arms. Tears started to streak down my face and I held my baby brother. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

"He protected me." Dustin fisted the back of my shirt and laid his face on my shoulder. "He helped save Hawkins."

"He did. He's a hero, a real hero and a good guy." I choked out, rubbing soothing circles into his back.

"I'm sorry, Dustin." Steve came and wrapped his arms around us.

Dustin only sobbed harder. Steve and I exchanged watery looks. Nancy and Robin joined our hug as we tried our best to comfort Dustin.

We drove the RV to check up on the Sinclair's and Max. As we pulled up, flashes of red and blue lit up the air. An ambulance was parked in front of the Creel's house. My heart started to race. Steve quickly parked the RV.  I got out quickly, the others behind me, and ran to look for the kids.

"Max!" I called out, looking around for them.

EMTs and police officers glanced at us as we entered the house. They didn't even stop us. Instead. They seemed to be focused on the split earth that seem to come from the house. Nancy stopped for a second, staring at the red split with fear.

"Lucas!" Steve yelled, hoping he would reply.

"Erica! Where are you guys?" I started to run up the stairs.
