"That was intense. I always thought you and Nat broke up amicably." Jack said making me sigh as Ria looked at me. "Just think about your own love life Jack."
We then walked over to our security building and saw Gisele waiting for us outside. She then looked over to Ria and then back at me as we were approaching her.
"You alright Y/N?" Ele asked as she glanced at me looking worried.
"I'm fine. Did Riley finish printing all the potential threats and risks?" I asked as we entered the building with Jack and Ria behind us.
"She just finished. She's also set up the surveillance of the whole compound." Samantha said making me nod.
"Alright. What's Toby doing?" I asked as I glanced at her. "Toby's watching the food I'm cooking for lunch. It should be ready anytime now." She said and I nodded.
"Boss, maybe you should've gone with Rogers and met the rest of the Avengers." Jack said as I looked back at him while we were walking down the hall.
"I mean it wouldn't hurt to know about the people you're trying to protect, right?" He said making me let out a breath as I looked forward and continued to walk.
"I can just know more about them when I'm not busy." I said and shrugged. The real reason I didn't go with Rogers is because of the tension between Natasha and me.
Seeing her hate me so much after we broke up a year ago is taking a toll on my heart. I never wanted her to hate me, but I didn't want her to hate herself more. She already carries so much guilt from her mistakes from the past. I can't pile on to that and hope that it won't break her.
When we reached the living quarters Gisele opened it for me as I saw a dining table to the right, a kitchen to the left, and a living room to the other side of the room from us.

"Great. Toby hasn't burned down the kitchen yet." I said jokingly as Toby looked at me. "That hurts boss." He said as he clenched his heart and faked hurt
"Don't worry, he's just watching the food. You guys can sit down. The food is ready." Riley said as she was at the counter.
We then went to sit at the dining table with me at the head, Ria to my left, and Gisele to my right. "So what have guys been up to before you came here?" I asked as all of us were now seated at the table.
They then told me about what they've done for a year after SHIELD disbanded. Riley was a freelance hacker for the FBI and CIA. Ria went back to our mentor, Cal Lightman, and worked there for a year. Toby, of course, told us how he went gambling at many casinos and almost ended up in a ditch every day as he outruns people that he owes money or that he ripped off. Jack and Gisele then were brief combat instructors for the CIA and the military.
"Speaking of the military, I've noticed military soldiers training around the compound." Gisele said making me look at her.
"They're not our priority. Our priorities are the agents and the avengers here. Treat them carefully and see if there's anything suspicious about them." I said and they all nodded.
