I was reading the past reports in my office when I heard bickering outside. I furrowed my eyebrows since it's only been a couple of weeks since I've recovered from the incident and things shouldn't be that bad already.

I sighed and got up from my chair then lazily went over to grab my gun from my desk. Once I tucked my gun behind me, I went towards the door and was now able to recognize the two voices; it was Natasha and Gisele.

"Why does that even matter?" I heard Natasha say making me sigh as my hand was reaching for the handle.

"It matters if you're only doing this because-"

Gisele wasn't able to finish what she was saying as I opened the door and saw the both of them look over in my direction.

"Hey, do you need anything?" Natasha asked as she quickly went over to me but I watched over Gisele too and notice her brief glare at Natasha before rolling her eyes.

"I'm fine, Romanoff. Anyway, do you mind telling me what the both of you are up to?" I asked as they both looked at each other.

I waited for a while but their staring contest was starting to morph into a glaring contest and I was in no mood to mediate them.

"Do you guys need more time alone? I can come back if you want." I said as I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing. We were just having a little talk. Weren't we?" Natasha said as she emphasized the last part. Clearly, something is going on between them so I looked over to Gisele who ignored Natasha.

"Can I have a moment with you, y/n? Alone." Gisele asked and I noticed Natasha tensed and her jaw tightened.

"No, you can't. She needs to rest." Natasha intervened without wasting any time and they resumed their glaring contest.

For fuck's sake.

"Agent Romanoff, move aside and let her in." I said making them both look at me. Gisele looked shocked for a moment before looking back at me with a wide smile.

"But you need to rest. It hasn't been that long since the incident." Natasha urged me but I was having none of it.

"I appreciate your concern Natasha but I have a job. And part of my job is listening to my subordinates." I said as politely as possible since there was no need to be rude.

"But-"

"No buts. Stay here until we finish talking or until I tell you to." I said and she let out a sigh which relieved me since I know she can be stubborn. But our friendship is not a pass for her being stubborn all the time.
