The Truth and The Lie

Chapter 5

After a few hours and another cup of coffee, we finally finished reading all the files and even organized them according to threat level which we did with the use of color-coding.

Red, being the most dangerous that can attack the compound and cause major damage and even casualties. Yellow, is possibly dangerous but can't do any serious damage if they attack. Lastly, there are green who are threats that don't have the resources to launch any physical attack.

Midway through our reading and organizing, I sent Gisele for a break to look for listening devices or anything that those Hydra agents might have left. After an hour she came back with a few disabled listening devices.

Toby was laying down on the couch and was now sleeping since he got tired of playing casino and was also bored since none of us gave him attention.

"Alright, so good news and bad news." Riley said as she entered the room with her laptop in her hands managing to scare Ria. "I found most of the threats and risks. But I wasn't able to find a few of them." She said as she sat down beside Gisele.

"That's fine. Can you update me if you notice any suspicious movements from them?" I asked and she smiled at me. "I already made a few agents watch them. They'll notify you when something comes up."

"Good. Take a break." I said and looked at my watch and noticed it was probably time to meet with the other half of the security detail.

"Gisele, can you organize this? I need to go with Jack to meet with the rest of the security detail." I said as I stood up making Jack stand up too.

"I got it. You guys can go." Gisele said and I smile at her before Jack left the room and made our way outside of the building.

Once we were outside the building we then went over to the agents lined up in front of Maria that were right outside of the Avengers compound.

When we got closer I also saw Hunt beside Maria who looking at me and standing at attention. "At ease agent Hunt." I said as I passed him and put my hand on his shoulders making him relax.

I then went to the right of Maria who smiled at nodded at me which I returned. "You're not going to shoot anyone again, right?" Maria asked and I noticed the agents in front stiffening at what she said making me smile.

"Don't worry. I'm not." I reassured her making her relax. I then felt someone watching us making me look back at the compound and notice Natasha watching. I looked at her for a while and when she noticed I was staring at her she then left making me sigh.

"Alright, everyone. Let's make this quick so that we can all go eat dinner." I said and look over to the agents who were standing at attention.

"I am Y/N L/N and I am the head of security in this compound. From today onwards you will be following agent Hunt who I'll be giving the orders to." I said as Jack went over and observed the agents as he was walking around them

"Everyone here will also be training every day an hour after dinner with me and agent Hunt. Is that understood?" I asked loudly. "Yes ma'am."

Jack who was now at the very back of everyone then snapped his head to one of the agents and pointed to some of them as he looked over at me. I then shook my head making him furrow his eyebrows at me.

"What was that?" Maria whispered to me making Hunt also look at me "Jack is pointing at some of the agents who are probably going to cause trouble or looks too stubborn to follow orders from a woman."

Maria and Hunt then looked over to Jack who was glaring at some men, and before the two of them said anything I stopped them.

"Don't worry. It's only natural for them to not fully trust me on the first day. If they become troublesome I'll handle it." I said and they both nodded.
