> The work was published in 1887 and it was during the spanish regime or spanish ruling era in the Philippines

> Because of his undying love for his country, he wrote the novel to unmask the brutality and corruption in the society during the Spanish colonial era. At the time, the Spaniards prohibited the Filipinos from reading the controversial book because of the unlawful acts depicted in the novel. He wrote it, after he read the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, he had an inspiration to write his own novel with the same topic to expose Spanish colonial abuse in Philippines.

3. What issues in the society did the author deal when writing the work?
> issues about corruption, injustice, poverty, and abuse that remain the same problem up to this day.

> Hypertext help readers can go through quickly. It is easy to navigate and helps users get an idea about what the article or page might be talking about without reading everything else in detail. They link to another useful resource that can be used to get in-depth information or knowledge about the topic. Intertext is more complex since there's no linking involved and you have to read each line thoroughly because they're long sentences that contain important information that the writer has included as a reference for its readers. Therefore, incorporating intertext and hypertext makes reading and writing more interesting because it can became more knowledgeable, smart and all informations and references/resources you need is already there at the same time.
