Many of us are facing challenges that can be stressful, overwhelming, and cause strong emotions. After a traumatic event, people may have strong and lingering reactions. Learning healthy ways to cope and getting the right care and support can help reduce stressful feelings and symptoms.
It is natural to feel stress, anxiety, grief, and worry during traumatic events such as natural disasters or pandemics. Feeling emotional and nervous or having trouble sleeping and eating can all be normal reactions to stress. To cope with stress we should take breaks from watching, reading or listening to news stories, including those on social media. It's good to be informed but hearing about the traumatic event constantly can be upsetting. We should take care of ourselves by eating healthy foods, exercise, get plenty of sleep, and give yourself a break if you feel stressed out. And take care of our body by take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate to relax our body. Make time to unwind and try to do some other activities you enjoy. We can talk to others or people
you trust about your concerns and how you are feeling. Share your problems and how you are feeling because talking with a parent, friend, counselor, doctor, or pastor is a big help to cope with stress. We should avoid drugs and alcohol. These may seem to help, but they can create additional problems and increase the stress you are already feeling. We should learn to recognize when we need more help. If problems continue or you are thinking about suicide, talk to a psychologist, social worker, or
professional counselor. To avoid unnecessary stress we should learn how to say "no", avoid people who stress you out, take control of your environment, and pare down your to-do list. Know to to alter the situation by expressing your feelings instead of bottling them up, be willing to compromise, and create a balanced Schedule. we should avoid the stressor by reframing problems, look at the big
picture, adjust our standards, and
practice gratitude. And we should
accept the things we cant change and
dont try to controll the uncontrollable, look for the upside, learn to forgive, and share your feelings.
