1. Name the different modern organizational design theories. Briefly define each.
> The modern organizational design theories are team design, matrix-project design, and boundary-less design. The team design is a flexible business organization structure made up of work teams that work together to achieve the organization's purpose. The matrix-project design is flexible business organization which assigns experts belonging to different functional departments to work together on projects. The boundary-less design is a form whose design eliminates vertical, horizontal, or external boundaries. Has no boundaries to information flow and completion of work is fast.

2. Task and personality conflicts are said to be disadvantages to the use of the matrix-project design. Explain rationale of this statement.
> Matrix-project design is different in striking ways because the employees are generally accountable to more than one boss. There are usually two separate chains of command. The matrix structure is designed to be partially impermanent. And has two kinds of managers, functional managers and project managers. The Managerial roles are fluid, and not fixed. The balance of power between functional and project managers isn't organizationally defined. That's why task and personality conflicts are disadvantages of matrix-project design.
