HollyMae185 - Hope you like it!! I really enjoy writing this so there may be a P3 as Charlie discovers his identity more. Big thanks to Seldom123 for the initial idea!

It had been a few weeks since Charlie first wore a dress and he couldn't shake the feeling it gave him out of his mind. He felt free and properly himself. Trying to explain it to Nick made him sound so stupid, he could never find the words to do the feeling justice.

Nick was being extremely understanding about it.

"I just want you to be happy" He kept saying whenever Charlie's doubt crept in as it did most of the time.

"Can I change?" Charlie suddenly asked Nick one evening.

Nick was round Charlie's, hanging out as they did most evening these days. At that precise moment they were both scrolling through their phones. When you were close enough with someone, being quiet and just chilling in the same room felt more than comfortable. You felt at peace.

Somehow, despite the abruptness of the question, Nick knew that there were two meanings to the question. Can I change? Although they had of course spoken about it since the first time, this was only the second time Charlie would be changing into different clothes and this time Nick was determined to understand better. If this is how Charlie felt, he wanted to support him and be there for him.

Nick couldn't think of anything worse than going through such a confusing and self-discovering journey with no one to talk to. To try to understand it and be there for you.

"Of course, this is your room!" Nick responded to Nick's question so blarsaé despite his internal dialogue and it comforted Charlie. It told him that this wasn't a big deal to Nick, no matter how big it felt in his own head.

Without saying another word, Charlie walked over to this wardrobe and dug out a carrier bag he kept hidden behind his shoe rack. It had a skirt and a really cute crop top he'd found in New Look.

"My sister will love these" He'd commented to the cashier who'd kept giving him shifty glances. The reality was, Tori would hate them, but he loved them and really wanted to wear them.

Thinking back to buying them made Charlie grimace slightly, but he persisted. Taking the clothes out of the bag and taking his shirt off.

Nick, who had been watching, turned his head slightly to show Charlie he wasn't looking. Even though they'd been dating for a while now and both seen each other barely clothed, Charlie had gotten really uncomfortable with his body recently.

It made Nick sad, he wanted Charlie to see how beautiful he was but he also respected Charlie too much to not do what made him uncomfortable.

Once he was changed, Charlie walked slightly cautiously towards his bed where Nick was sitting. He felt pretty and comfortable, but he was worried about what Nick thought.

"Here she is" Nick beamed, taking in Charlie's appearance, "You look beautiful"

Charlie felt that feeling he'd been craving all over again. His heart felt swollen as if it couldn't take any more feeling. The change in pronouns hadn't gone unnoticed and he liked how they sounded.

"Did you buy this?" Nick asked, standing up to be closer to Charlie
"Yeah" Charlie said, he couldn't say anything else because of the lump in his throat.

Nick furrowed his eyebrows slightly and Charlie's heart dropped immediately along with his eyes. He didn't like it, he thought I was weird and clearly not right in the head, I should have known from the start that this was a bad idea, he's going to storm out now and we'll never see each other again. He hates-

"Do you have a different name now?" Nick asked, his voice was quiet and a little unsure, "I just- I didn't know if now you dress like- like this you want to be called something else?" Nick continued, uncertainty still in his voice.
"I- I don't know" Charlie stammered, taken back by Nick's thoughtfulness and understanding, "I like when you called me she"
"Okay" Nick nodded, "I can do that, Princess" He smirked now, thinking back to when Charlie said he liked that, "Just let me know - wow" Nick quickly added, taking in Charlie's appearance again.

The skirt hugged Charlie's legs perfectly, the crop top straps looked so delicate and pretty on broader shoulders.

"You look so pretty" Nick finished his sentence, putting his hands on Charlie's waist and Charlie smiled shyly, breaking their eye contact to look at the floor.

"Hey" Nick's voice was hardly a whisper as he took his right hand off Charlie's waist and brushed his fingers on his chin, making him look up.

For a second or two they just looked at each other. Lost in each other's eyes. So many words and feelings left unspoken. Then, Nick leaned in, letting their lips connect and it felt electric when they did.

My 10 y/o cousin is like Charlie, he likes 'dressing like a girl' as he calls it. He has a name and everything when he is. I don't see him that often but I want him to see that I'm a safe space and want him to be happyyyy. He did my make up and he said 'you'll attract all the boy's (I'm a girl) and I said "What about girls?". He said, "What, you're a lesbian?" And I went, "No, I like boys AND girls". I know it's more complex than that, tbh I'm probably what you'd label as pan, but we won't blow an 10 year old's mind with that just yet. Anyways, he shot me a shocked face and he continued giving me a makeover. I just want him to know it's okay and I want him to be happy. Anywayssss, hope you enjoyed the one shot lol :)
