Little Treasure (Reyna and Sage with kid/s)

"Agh!"

The click of the bone being relocated back to its rightful place made the healer wince, the disgruntled duelist's hiss of pain serving as an added detail that furthered her concerns. Reyna going up against the alternate world's Yoru in hand-to-hand combat wasn't the most reasonable thing to do, especially since the Japanese knew more than just basic martial arts. Reyna got her shoulder dislocated, which explains the aforementioned turn of events.

Now that they're back in their transport and were already on their way back to base, they had much space to breathe and let their guard down. Regardless though, Sage was still deeply apprehensive towards Reynaʼs state. The woman did take quite a beating before backup arrived and finally intervened.

"What you did was worrisome, Reyna." Sage uttered, frowning when the woman's initially pained expression morphed into a casual dismissive look. "I told you to watch yourself."

"I know, mi corazón. And I did. I am alive, aren't I?"

"I may be capable of healing these bruises of yours," Sage moved the orb right in front of Reynaʼs face, dispelling it with a delicate yet fine flourish in order to heal the nasty-looking bruise the latter was sporting on her cheek. "but that doesn't mean you'll be careless. You promised her you'd be careful."

Reyna raised an eyebrow, shooting Sage an unimpressed stare. "Are you honestly using our four year old daughter to win this?"

"If it means making you see how foolish your actions were, then yes."

"Bickering again?" came Viper's voice from the open cockpit, which was accompanied by the sound of Cypher chuckling under his mask.

"You shouldn't cut in with this one." Cypher lightly warned. "Unless, of course, you want Reyna to drag you out of your seat."

"She can try."

Upon hearing that, the Mexican stood up and started towards the direction of the scientist, only to be stopped by the hand that grabbed her arm and firmly tugged her into facing away from the two pilots. Reyna suppressed a sigh when she was met with the Stern expression of her partner.

"Mi vida, please. We'll talk about my carelessness later. I need to...-"

"No." was Sage's words of interruption, eyes narrowing in exasperation. "You listen to me, Zyanya. You have a child back at headquarters. A little girl that you promised to return to after every mission you are assigned to."

"Sage...-"

"Zip." Sage made a quick swiping motion across Reynaʼs face, surprising and somewhat amusing the duelist with the gesture. "I will not be that parent that tells their daughter their other mother is on the verge of death, or worse, dead, because of their careless, idiocy. Do you understand me, Mondragón?"

Rather than looking afraid of the piercing eyes currently fixed on her, a relatively stupefied look was plastered all over Reynaʼs face. The usual arguments between her and Sage would get heated every once and a while, but never had she experienced being reprimanded this way.

If she remembered correctly, every time Sage lectured her for her recklessness, Reyna always opted in using, charming words, her meticulous hands and supple lips to make the healer break out of her scolding demeanor. But, with this particular case in hand, it was painstakingly obvious Sage wasn't going to let her off the hook so easily.

"Perfectly, mi corazón."

"Good." Sage withdrew a handkerchief from one of her pouches and practically shoved it into the duelist's hands. "Clean yourself up. I want not a single trace of blood on your skin once we land. The last thing I want is for Yu Zyn to see anything that pertains to violence."
