Recombinant 014
Pairing: Reyna x SageHeadquarters was not on high alert, but every available agent in the Protocol certainly acted like it was with how they urgently roamed the halls of the facility. As much as Brimstone wanted to raise the alarm and launch a search party for a particular missing child, Sage was surprisingly the one who insisted not to do so.
The sirens and collective heavy footfalls of soldiers would only spook her missing daughter, she claimed. It was an acceptable reason, so now, the task of finding Yu Zyn was up for the agents to accomplish. Some of the operatives were in their quarters already, though, due to the fact that they had missions to prepare for the following day. All of those part of the latter was admittedly reluctant to turn in, only doing so when Brimstone issued a strict order and assured them that the agents that agreed to help Reynaʼs case would be the ones to find the little girl in the area.
Cypher was scouring each and every single camera connected to both the main system and his own private server in hopes of at least catching a glimpse of Yu Zyn. It took him longer than it should have, his inefficiency relatively upsetting him, but he at least managed to narrow down a fair area where the child could be.
Skyeʼs animals were either running or flying throughout the hangar, Viper and Omen were searching through the other rooms on the way to where Yu Zyn was last seen, Neon could be spotted sprinting from one point to another and Sage? Well, as much as the healer wanted to seek her daughter, Cypher asked her to stay in her quarters just in case Yu Zyn were to come back.
Not only did the urge to find her child was strong, but Sage found it fairly difficult to stay put, especially with her ongoing issue with Reyna, which significantly worsened from their previous talk at the duelist's quarters. What they both hoped would be a peaceful conversation turned into a relatively turbulent and utterly emotional exchange.
Speaking of the Mexican woman, Reyna was also roaming the halls in hopes of finding Yu Zyn. Her pace evidently slower yet her steps more calculated, similar to how her thoughts were running in her head. She glanced left and right every now and then, thinking if that one room she would momentarily look at was a candidate to become Yu Zyn's whereabouts.
So many things to think about, so many matters that needed to be resolved.
Luciaʼs life hanging by a fraying thread, Sage being absolutely livid with her at the moment, their contentious discussion putting a massive strain in their relationship and, of course, the sudden disappearance of their daughter. The same daughter that she was told was now afraid of them.
Reyna certainly had a strong heart, but it surely felt like it was this close to collapsing from all the heartbreak she was being faced with. As if she was just a piece of paper being torn into two. She could only imagine what Sage and Yu Zyn were feeling as well.
Despite being deep in her thoughts, a considerable amount of surprise struck Reyna once she sensed the mild pulse of energy from the armoury she was about to pass. She came to a halt so abruptly that if she were a car, the sound of wheels skidding across the pavement would have echoed all around her. It was a feeling similar to a magnetic pull. A familiar call.
Reyna didn't hesitate to unlock the door and step into the gun storage, stopping once she was inside and the panel hissed closed behind her. Instead of turning the lights on, Reynaʼs eyes glowed bright with its purple hue as she looked around the shadow-painted surroundings she was now in.
Choosing to let her instincts lead, Reyna began navigating her way through the armoury with movements that made it seem as if she knew it like the back of her hand. Granted, rooms like this had the same outlay as the next one, it was still impressive with how easily she weaved through tables, shelves and crates without even grazing a single one of them.
