Recombinant 010
Pairings: Viper x Killjoy / Reyna x Sage / Fade x Neon

The staff at the medical bay were either curiously yet subtly watching, or inaudibly murmuring among themselves whenever they regarded the three VALORANT agents idling just outside one of the private wards. It wasn't an unusual sight to see the operatives of the Protocol visiting the infirmary, especially since one of them, Sage specifically, had their main office set up at the far end of the medical space.

Skye, Yoru and Jett were either patiently waiting or anxiously pacing around due to their genuine concern for their fellow agent, who had been rushed into the aforementioned room by none other than Sage and Viper themselves.

It was always considered in the level of an emergency whenever one of those two women were involved. Whether it was them that was injured, or they were the ones called to treat whatever medical situation that required their attention and expertise, it usually called the attention of the people stationed in that particular area of headquarters.

"Can't we, like, see if she's doing okay in there?" Jett asked, nervously glancing at the closed door. The culpability that's been eating her alive for the past hour refused to let her relax, continuously replaying the memory of her tackling Fade and causing her to hit the back of her head in the first place.

It may not have been confirmed if that was the actual trigger of Fade's seizure or not, it still didn't ease any of Jett's guilt and concerns. She even struck Fade twice before Yoru made her realize the woman was undergoing something already.

"Neon's already in there with her." Skye said, half-heartedly jabbing a thumb over to the direction of the door. "The last thing we need is to overwhelm Fade when she wakes up."

"Why's Neon an exception? Shouldn't we, I don't know, supervise her?"

"Neon ain't a rookie anymore, Jett." Skye mentioned, crossing her arms. "We might call her that from time to time, but she's already like us when it comes to rank."

Jett continued with her pacing, her steps slowing to a halt once again after a few minutes of pondering. She slowly turned, glancing between Skye and Yoru before her gaze settled on the former and asked, "Am I the only one who's curious as to why Neon's so worried about Fade?"

"They've likely gotten closer." Yoru said, shifting his position on the pillar he was leaning against. "Neon hasn't been around us recently."

Jett made a face. "I thought she was just busy with her missions. It's either that, or she's on babysitting duty with the kids."

"Well, ever since what happened last time, you and Yoru aren't exactly the best choice for the latter." Skye reminded with a knowing look shot mostly at Yoru rather than Jett.

The Japanese averted his gaze immediately, coughing to himself. The children's parents weren't entirely pleased with him and Jett when they found out that Luthor and Yu Zyn slipped from their watch that time.

"Yeah, but does that mean she's been spending time with Fade?" Jett looked like she was having a bit of a hard time wrapping her head around the idea. "I thought she hated her."

"People change."

"And now they're friends?"

"I think they're more than that." Yoru spoke up, prompting both Jett and Skye to turn to him with a silent request to further elaborate. "Didn't you see how Neon looked earlier? She was this close to crying."

"We've all been through worse, haven't we?" Jett asked, switching stares between Yoru and Skye. "Shot, stabbed, punched, kicked, pretty much everything."
