Recombinant 019
Pairings: Fade x Neon / Skye x Yoru

Smoke fleeting around, pipes, walls and other debris scattered all over, everything was an absolute wreck for one half of the cell block. The generator that once stood and covered the area at one side was completely blown wide open, sparks emitting from the thick wires that were once connected but now burnt and ruined by the unforeseen disaster.

The red lights were still blinking, but the sound alert seemed to have quieted down. It was either that, or it was being overshadowed by the ringing in Fade's ears. Her vision was a bit bleary, which she blamed on the possibility of hitting her head when she was thrown back by the explosion.

Fade rolled over and laid on her back, staring at the ceiling of her holding unit for an undetermined number of minutes. She felt like all her energy had been sapped, and despite her dazed state, she knew the sensation all too well. It was the same feeling that always overcame her every time she finally awakened from a recent seizure.

With her seizing episodes not having a definite estimate for how long they lasted, Fade wasn't sure if she had been unconscious for a mere minute or more. She took a breath and nearly coughed at the hitch in her throat. It's like she was some sort of android that just got a forced system reboot with how she was regaining her senses towards her Radiance.

There were echoing whispers blending with the fading ringing in her ears, which she dispelled with a shake of her head and a disgruntled snarl. The tendrils of nightmares, which had been oozing out of her and swirling around like a pool of black and red gradually seeped in until they vanished into her hands and back.

"Fuck..." Fade breathed out as she rigidly sat up, using her hands to prevent her from falling on her face. Hunched over on the floor, Fade surveyed her devastated surroundings and could only think that no one could have survived the explosion.

Knowing how valued and used Radianite was to the people of the Legion, they were surely using a Radianite-powered generator to keep the sectors of their headquarters up and running. With the recent blast, Fade figured she was only alive due to the fact that she was imprisoned in a Radiant-proof cell unit. The clear barrier that once kept her holding chamber close was now gone and deactivated, leaving her exposed to the radiation of the Radianite from the ruined generator.

The ticket to her escape was right there, and though the hazardous emissions of the Radianite were making her feel awfully lightheaded, Fade knew she needed to push the effects aside as much as she could. Especially if she did want to leave the hellhole she's in.

Fade crawled over to the nearest wall and used it as leverage to bring herself up and on shaky legs. She leaned on it for a moment, trying to recall whatever plan she might've drafted in her mind before the sudden detonation of the machinery. Not even more than a few seconds passed when realization struck her, causing her to shift her focus.

The bounty hunter snapped her head up, disregarding the echoes of a headache caused by the abrupt motion. She haltingly walked towards the opening of the cell, planting a hand against the edge of the wall as she peered around the debris-cluttered aisle. With the dim red lighting and thin texture of Radianite-laced smoke, Fade had a bit of difficulty in seeing any color pertaining to the blue and yellow.

Before everything, Neon was quite literally standing in front of the generator. If she were human, Fade would think she would have instantly died from the blast. But since she was a Radiant, Fade figured the Filipino had higher chances of surviving the destruction.

Then again, this wasn't her Neon, was it?

Fade had to ask herself for a moment as to why she even bothered to think about the Legion agent's well-being. What if she did die from that explosion, or maybe seriously injured to the point that she was on the edge of life? Why should Fade care? Neon's demise should be considered a stroke of luck for her, since that would mean one less problem to deal with.
