When the Rain Falls (Rainy day under one umbrella)

Training area deserted, rain pouring above the sky, Sage wouldn't blame the agents if the bed weather got to them. She's been doing her rounds for the past hour, checking in on various stations and departments for updates.

Things have been awfully quiet as of late. It was considerably surprising, especially since their most recent operation nearly went south due to the unanticipated encounter with a group of agents from the mirrorverse.

To make things worse, the one leading the opposing party was none other than Reynaʼs otherworldly twin. She was far more vicious. Showed no control when she exchanged not only bullets, but also blows as well. Mainly against Yoru and Skye, who were the unfortunate pair to directly cross paths with the mirror duelist.

Sage pursed her lips as she made her way to the nearest elevator, where she became distracted with her thoughts once more while she waited for the lift to arrive to her floor.

Yoru sprained one of his legs and received a horribly bruised cheek after the fight, while Skye was somewhat fortunate enough to slip from the conflict with a sprained wrist and ankle. Upon their return to headquarters, Brimstone immediately held a meeting concerning their agenda and training regime.

For the past few days, Sage assisted Brimstone and Viper in making drastic changes with their itinerary, which ended up with the three of them unanimously agreeing for Reyna to be the one to personally train the other members of the Protocol.

After all, if what KAY/O said about the mirrorverse was true, then the one individual they needed to watch out for the most was Reynaʼs counterpart.

Today was the first time Sage was going to check on the progress of the supposedly new training regime Reyna created for the herself and the others. But, what surprised her was that not a single one of them was in the main training area, which led Sage to ask a few roving soldiers about the whereabouts of the agents.

One of the units she spoke to mentioned that the Reyna and the rest were at the rooftop of the headquarters and that they even saw Viper make her way to the same location an hour ago.

The response certainly confused Sage. It was raining quite heavily outside, yet Reyna chose to hold their training outdoors? Most of them may be Radiants and have stronger than usual immune systems, but that didn't make them, entirely human or not, invulnerable to the possibility of catching a bad cold.

By the time Sage snapped back to reality, she realized she had already stepped into the elevator and that the doors were finally opening at the level of the rooftop. She exited the lift, swiping one of the black umbrellas in a supply rack by the doorway before proceeding to the outdoor area.

The rain was definitely pouring. It wasn't a hard one but it definitely wasn't a drizzle either. Sage opened her umbrella and approached the group standing near the center, where they seemed to have set up the mats that were no doubt as soaked as the rest of the people present in the area.

"Sage!"

The sentinel came to a halt just outside their circle, mainly because Jett was skidding to a stop right in front of her. Despite the rain washing away any traces of perspiration, the normally upbeat Korean looked absolutely exhausted, hair looking disheveled and water-logged.

"Please tell me this is the last week Reynaʼs calling shots in training."

Confused, Sage asked, "Is something the matter, Jett? Is Reyna not up to the task?"

"Oh! She's up for it, alright!" Raze cut in, her cap missing from her head. Just like Jett, she looked as if she'd been running a marathon through the cold downpour. "She's so up for it that she's pretty much beating us all into shape. Literally!"
