Recombinant 025
Pairings: Killjoy x Viper / Reyna x Sage / Yoru x Skye

It took less than half an hour for Cypher to answer her call and send the Vulture to retrieve her where the Legion's Chamber had teleported her off to. Killjoy had been awfully relieved that her memory had not failed her and that she managed to remember all the numbers she needed to contact just to be connected to the private communication line of the Protocol. A line that Cypher had set up for situations like this.

The fact that she was teleported back to Alpha Earth, her world, was still a mystery. They've hardly had a complete and intricate portal up and running back at headquarters, yet the Legion seemed to be dozens of steps ahead of them already. It was frustrating on Killjoy's part, especially since Chamber had hinted that their Killjoy was the one responsible for their versions of portals and other dimensional travel machinery.

Said frustration was soon dismissed by the sight of a familiar aircraft appearing in the sky, the large vessel casting a huge shadow on and all around the techie.

Once the Vulture finally landed and its hatch opened, three operatives stepped out to collect her. Killjoy didn't bother saying or doing anything but raise her hands in surrender. Astra and Harbor slightly spread out across the area, their firearms ready and poised to shoot at any enemy that might pop out on the open for a possible ambush. None of them could really be blamed for the extra caution they displayed.

As for Omen, he was quick to confiscate Killjoy's only gun, which the latter forfeited willingly. Before he could initiate a search for any further weapons though, the techie informed him of the four vials she stole from Viper's laboratory.

Despite not having a clear, comprehensible look of Omen's expression, Killjoy was fairly certain the former was regarding her with a stare of skepticism. Nonetheless, Omen withdrew the samples from the pocket of her pants, examined them for a moment before nodding and turning to their new recruit.

Harbor, the newest addition to the team, was quick to holster his Sheriff and take out a zip tie from one of his pouches. As much as Killjoy didn't want her freedom to be limited again, she knew it was likely a precaution. Of course they wouldn't trust her so easily. For all they knew, this was just some elaborate, little plan the Legion was hoping to trick them again with.

It'd be a risky plan, but a plan, nonetheless. They couldn't afford to be too complacent now.

"I've been briefed about the whole situation." Harbor said as he secured the plastic strip around the techie's wrist. "You look like you've been through a lot."

"I take that you're Varun?" Killjoy asked as she was apprehended, looking over her shoulder to get a much clearer view of the agent.

"You know me?" came Harbor's evidently surprised query. "I don't know if I should see that as a good thing or not. Can't know these days, can we?"

Killjoy held back from sighing at the last line. "No. No, we can't."

"It's good that you know, at least."

If she had any energy to spare, she would've probably given a little quip that would serve as some sort of welcome for Harbor into the Protocol. She'd probably even partner it with a smile and a few assuring lines about how everyone in VALORANT would be willing to assist him if he needed it.

But in the end, the only thing she could muster was a small, tired smile before she was led away and escorted towards the Vulture's open ramp.

Killjoy remained quiet even when she was seated and the aircraft took off, focus trailing absently as she waited for their return to base. With the adrenaline wearing down, the glass shards embedded in her skin started sending undeniable prickling sensations throughout her body. Every part of her felt like they were either suffering from blunt force trauma or were completely exhausted.
