Chapter 14

Chapter 14: Another Castaway

When life gets haywire, you feel like you're in a void of space trying to get out into the atmosphere. Reaching, looking, and seeking for something that's hidden beyond your limit. And that's why you have to surpass what you used to.

While I'm stuck on this feeling that keeps me away from discovering who I am. What is my goal in this lifetime? That's what I need to find out.

I winced from the pain I was feeling when I woke up and sit up on the headboard.

"Thank the Gods you're awake now," said Harry, while checking up on me.

"How long did I fall asleep again?" It's ironic that I've been passed out frequently since I got here. Shaking my head at the thought I looked around. I noticed the medical apparatus so I'm in a sort of clinic.

"3 hours. Your body is in a mortal state so the healers took time to heal it. Tho, you will still feel pain but it's fine now." He said worriedly. I just nodded.

I notice the bandage wrapped around my shoulder. I then feel myself, the pain is below the shoulder blades on my back.

"I'm sorry, Molly." he grabs my hand. "If I was paying more attention this wouldn't happen. It's my fault. I was there but couldn't even save you."

I looked at him while he was saying it with sadness in his eyes. I shooked my head.

"Hermano, don't blame yourself. Malayo to sa bituka." I reassuringly smiled. Pilit na ngiti lang ang binigay niya.

"So, paano na ang klase?" pag-iiba ko ng topic.

"It's about lunch. Let's go eat. You sure you can manage?"

"Yes, Hermano," I said.

"Okay then," tinulungan niya akong tumayo. "Careful." He briefly said.

I look at myself in the near mirror behind the door. "Ang dungis ko." I thought to myself.  I can't go out that door with this look.

Harry noticed where I'm looking and laughed, he gets then something below the bed. It's a huge black box with the school logo in the center. At binigay niya naman ito.

"What's this?" tanong ko habang sinusuri ang kahon.

"Just see it there. There's a bathroom behind that curtain," itinuro niya ang mala-kurtina na nakahilera sa dulo ng malaking cabinet. "Go take your time. I'll wait here." he grabs my hand and drags me carefully.

I closed the bathroom door when I finally entered. It's just a single space with completed materials. I opened the box and placed it on the sink. It's covered with black satin and my eyes are filled with amazed when it's finally revealed.

A neatly piled uniform. It consists of a tie, pair of black knee-high socks, a skirt, and a blouse with a blazer. I paused as I look at myself in the mirror.

I asked myself, do I need to do this? How long will I have to endure?

I brushed off the thoughts that keeps on lingering on me and started to clean myself. Glad I found some extra pairs of clean towels and other necessities I need. Of course, I need to look decent.

As soon as I'm contented, I grab the box and pick it up to wear the long white polo. I buttoned it and it fits my size perfectly. The cotton fabric feels nice as it was not uncomfortable to wear. I touch the school logo that it's been patched on the right upper chest of the clothing and I let out a heavy sigh.

I took out the next one. Glad I'm wearing cycling shorts already, even though I'm wearing jeans earlier. I don't know I'm just not comfortable without wearing one. But as I grabbed the skirt that has black colored with gold and white checkered lines, I squinted my eyes in annoyance. It's one inch above the knee. It's still short but average. Left with no choice I just slip it on with the polo inserted inside. Next, I grab the necktie with black and gold lines and the school logo at the bottom.
