Chapter 9: Embers Brand New Numb
Something odd but at the same time, an overwhelming feeling of ecstasy is bothering me.
"The book seems fond to you, 'bit unfair," said Gerald, while walking towards my direction. I just look away and face back at the view outside. I'm still a bit dazed.
"It's called BOV, short for the Book of Verisimilitude [ver-uh-si-mil-i-tood]. It is to identify the accuracy of genetics." I nod in response. Oh? Parang DNA? Hindi ba uso machine sakanila?
"Something like that. Since it's a magic book, it's not just only depend on what kind of culture where you are from. It is one from the highest society realm here in Hirawei that only privilege can take hold from it." I furrowed my eyebrows as I look at him.
"Don't worry. I di-discuss yata to bukas." He smiled, he always does. "But, one thing I'm sure this book came from your ancestors."
"What do you mean?" nalilito kong sabi.
"You'll see," tumahimik bigla ang paligid. "They are more than you think, Morgana."
I sigh. I shouldn't think and take things like this. Ano ba talaga ang gusto kong patunayan? What would this new phase in a new strange world bring peace to my existence?
I laughed consciously. Like, my parents' deaths caused me so many doubts and troubles. I'm lost, I know. But, what these have to do with me being here?
"To figure out yourself along the way," Gerald said with a reassuring smile. Nabigla ako sa sinabi niya. Teka?! 'bat alam niya yung iniisip ko?
He shook his head. I'm sorry for reading your mind but your thoughts are leaking. I know it is hard to believe but we can actually read minds." So are you telling me that now? Really?
I still look at him confusingly. Because of the excessive pieces of information hindi kinakaya nito mag flow sa orihinal nitong daanan." iniwas niya ang tingin sakin.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "That's cause those to leaked, parang tubo na may tumutulo. And since, normal mortal couldn't have the ability to read minds and just my observations that's where we enter our kinds. We built differently with the special physique so yes, it is possible for us to have that kind of ability."
This is too much to process. What's really going on?
Kaya kailangan kong kumpirmahin kong totoo nga ba yung sinasabi niya.
"So.." I look at him confusingly na parang sinusuri ko yung buong pagkatao niya. "If you don't mind-"
