Sagittarius POV
"I really hope the Morales have the moonstone," Pisces murmured, pacing in the garden. I leaned against a tree and looked to the mansion door at the other end of the apple tree field. The Morales were known for their gardening, and they had told us to wait here while they took care of some business.
"I hope so too," Scorpio murmured, sitting down in the shade of the opposite tree. Pisces had convinced him to wear a short-sleeved shirt today, but he still looked extremely uncomfortable, rubbing his pale arms. It was actually one of the first times I'd seen him in something other than his hoodie.
My phone dinged and I took it out of my pocket, frowning at our chat.
Gems: smth sus is going on here. stay on your guard I don't like the eversons
SagTheArcher: the Morales seem pretty nice but sure
"Oh!" Pisces exclaimed. "They're here!"
I looked up and saw the Morales at the end of the scene where a few butlers were setting up garden tables and chairs. Apparently all of the families we'd picked were pretty rich.
Mrs. Morale waved us over and we came. By her side was a girl a bit taller than Pisces. "Meet my daughter, Patricia!" Ms. Morales said brightly, patting her daughter on the shoulder. She had Capricorn's skin color, so it was a bit surprising to see her caramel skin flush when she blushed. Hey, that rhymed.
"You're embarrassing me, Mom," Patricia muttered, whisking off to the garden table.
"Don't worry about her," Ms. Morale said cheerfully. "I know that we said that we were going to show you our artifacts, but . . it's tea time!"
"Tea time's a thing?" Scorpio wondered, shirking under Ms. Morale's bright gaze. She laughed.
"Oh, you're funny. Come along, now."
Scorpio blinked in confusion and I stifled a laugh as Ms. Morale led us to the garden table.
"My husband can't be with us right now," she explained, taking a sip of her tea. We all sat down awkwardly as she said, "Patricia, why don't you ask them why they're here?"
"I know why they're here, Mom," she grumbled. "To look for that stone."
"The moonstone," I said. Patricia ignored me. I frowned.
"The unicorn's moonstone," Scorpio muttered, still rubbing his arms. His grey eyes looked stormy, and Patricia glanced at him and blushed.
Pisces's eyes narrowed as she noticed and said, "It's an honor to be here, Ms. Morale. I had no idea your gardens were this big."
"Anything for the Zodiacs!" she laughed. "You guys are really legends around here. I'm afraid that I don't exactly know what we have in store since we have a lot of things that we have collected, but once my husband is done I can ask him."
