Sagittarius POV
I crouched with my head in my hands, breathing hard.
Something was wrong.
Something was setting me off.
I felt different, a different person than I was two minutes ago.
I rocked myself gently, my eyes squeezed shut. I knew where I was, but I didn't know where where I was was.
Soft orange light filtered beyond my eyelids. I was in a place with nothing, nothing at all. It was torture, being somewhere where I couldn't do anything.
A buzz tore through the silence of the pocket of space I was in. I blinked my eyes open and dug my phone out of my pocket, a small dash of hope bolting through me when I saw Leo calling me.
Can he do that . . .?
I answered it, blinking when I saw a vast expanse of soft red-and-gold light stretching as far as the phone could see. "Umm . . .?"
Leo switched the camera back, his eyes wide and surprised. "You answered."
"Did you think I'd not?" I asked, slightly irritated.
Okay. Something was definitely wrong with me.
Leo seemed to know, too, and tilted his head, hope floating in his eyes. "Where are you?"
I shrugged. "Don't know. It's kind of hard to tell."
Leo chewed on his lip, as if considering whether to tell me something that had been on his mind for a few minutes. Or hours, or days -- time was frozen on my phone, timers and stopwatches didn't work, so I had no way of telling how long I'd spent in here -- it was probably the same for Leo as well.
"You know how we got put into these things, right?" he asked slowly.
I nodded, feeling annoyed. Maybe the lack of silly string was seriously affecting me.
"Maybe . . . Pisces wasn't with us." Leo had that hopeful expression on his face again as I thought about it.
"Wow." I exhaled. "I must be feeling pretty negative today."
My best friend furrowed his brow. "What do you mean?"
I looked away, feeling slightly ashamed. "I just thought . . . Pisces is pretty small."
Leo narrowed his eyes. "Sagittarius --"
"I'm sorry!" I yelped. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I've been feeling off lately and I have no idea why --"
"Yeah, we've all noticed," Leo snorted. "Also, don't underestimate Pisces. One time I accidentally said something mean about Star Wars and she kicked me in the balls."
I winced. "I didn't know Pisces liked Star Wars."
"That's the thing -- she doesn't. She just overhead me saying Jabba the Hutt was ugly."
