Pisces POV
"We're stuck. Again," Scorpio said in a deadpan tone.
"Well, at least we're not all cramped together like last time," I pointed out. Granted, it was just me, Scorpio and Cancer in the bedroom-sized silver room. Sophie had apparently grouped us by elements in her little dungeon.
"I wonder when Aries will come breaking down the door," Cancer pondered, sitting upright. He'd been staring at the ceiling on his back for so long that at the back of his head, his ginger hair was flat and stuck straight up, but I didn't want to tell him that. Scorpio groaned and put his head between his knees, which he'd pulled close to his chest. The gesture tugged at my heartstrings -- something about this was making Scorpio upset, and I hated to see him like that.
"Why Aries?" I asked, looking around. There was nothing in the room -- just silver walls and floors and ceilings. I wished I could've done something before the hidden security tasers hidden in the walls of the moonstone room, but what could I have done -- bolted? They'd poked out of the walls and shot at us just like the Squid Game guns in the first game.
I shuddered. The first time I watched it, all twelve of us were bingewatching it in one night, and by the fourth episode, Capricorn had declared that we'd watch it later because Taurus, Cancer, and Gemini had already run out of the room to create a pillow fort in the dorms because the show was too disturbing. Gemini got in detention the next day for being in a boy's dorm over the night and Virgo had seemed haunted for days.
"Helloo? Earth to Pisces?"
I snapped back to attention. "Don't you mean Realm? We're not on Earth anymore, dummy." I said it playfully and also did him a favor by rubbing him on the top of his head, making his hair go back to normal. Cancer batted me away, grinning.
"I said that I said it was Aries because she's the best at getting out of escape rooms, remember?"
I nodded, remembering when Virgo had all called us in the middle of the summer between freshman and sophomore year to tell us she'd booked an escape room for us since we were all being, and I quote, "lazy asses who need to get off their butt and use their brain before it turns into a raisin". It was actually quite fun, but we got out really quickly because Aries and Gemini had teamed up.
"Do any of you remember where the door is?" Scorpio asked quietly. I turned to him in surprise and went over to him, lifting his black hoodie gently so I could see his eyes.. He didn't stop me.
"No, it blended into the walls, remember?" I answered softly. Cancer slowly backed away, then started feeling the walls.
"I am NOT going to third-wheel on another relationship like Libra," I heard him mutter, bending down. I laughed.
"Scorpio, what's wrong? You know that we'll get out eventually."
He just put his head in his arms. My smile disappeared and I frowned.
