I feel like whenever I say I'm not afraid of everything, everyone around me takes it the wrong way.
So basically,Me: I am not afraid of heights
Person: So you would jump out of a plane without a parachute then?
Me: No, I'm not acrophilic, I'm just not afraid of heights.
Person OH MY GOD HOW IS THAT POSSIBLELet me explain this.
Phobia: The fear of something
Philia: the love of something.Understand? Okay.
If I do not have a phobia, would it make sense to assume I have a philia?
Of course not!Essentially, this:
I am not afraid of the outdoors, or agoraphobic.
That does not mean that I will run outside and bury myself in the dirt screaming,"I LOVE THE OUTDOORS!"
Okay?
So why can people not grasp that just because I am not afraid of heights, doesn't mean that I am willing to jump out of a fifty story building with just a paper bag strapped to my back?Farewell😘
