You know what really ruins a good Wattpad story?
An unintended sequel.
Why?
Well, basically, an author will write an amazing first book, which everyone loves.
Then, all the readers ask the author if they can write a sequel.
However, the author hasn't planned for a sequel, so they just write whatever comes to their mind, because they haven't thought of a plot yet.
Most likely, they never will.
Causing the sequel to drag on and on until it's painful to read.
If it's a story about a ship, then it will basically be the author attempting to write "cute moments" for the ship.
But it's after all the action happened, and after the ending, so it isn't usually very good and mostly pointless
Sometimes this can happen with the book itself.
Like, the author has an idea for the first part, but none of the rest, so the beginning is great and it quickly becomes terrible.
So let's have a lesson here.
Before you write a story, do a these things:
Sketch out an image of your main character(s) and write down some basic info.
Describe the setting/settings
Name your less main character(s).
Do a little story arc. What happens in the story, just the basic plot.
Think about possible plot twists, the theme, that stuff.
