Another weird sub I've found.
The Bird Lady.
I first saw this sub when she came into my math class. She had drawn some sort of bird on the whiteboard.
When we walked in, she looked at us and said, in this small, soft voice, "I'm doing a study on the quail!"
She continued to shade in her quail with whiteboard markers, and the math class did its own stupid math class things.
The second time I saw her was in social studies/history. We were studying the Inca, Maya, and Aztec, and she came in and drew a quetzal in the board. She told us all that we had to take notes on a video.
She also told us that everyone from my elementary school was supposed to be very good at taking notes, though there's not actually that many of us in the class, and no one remembers anything from elementary school, because it's not like we've just left there.
I am not very good at taking notes.
I guess I'm letting my elementary school down.
The most recent sighting of the Bird Lady was when she was subbing for my Homeroom. She came in and told a few of the boys, in her creepy, quiet voice, to be quiet and move away from each other.
This meant that the room was silent and awkward for the whole fifteen minutes or so, but the Bird Lady didn't notice, and just stood at the board drawing weird birds everywhere.
When I came in the next day, I noticed there was a giant bald eagle on the board, with a note that said "there are now nine bald eagles in the area <3!"
It made saying the pledge more patriotic.
