Three years later

Alec POV

Little hands pressed on my cheeks, soft breaths on my nose is what woke me up this morning. My eyes fluttered open as I looked upon my little mate smiling at me. Her little milk teeth showing with messy hair disheveled and sticking up all over the place. Her soft eyes staring at me.

"Good morning little one." I whispered with a smile.

"Hi." Judith whispered, her smile widening. "We play now?"

"Not yet pup. Mummy and daddy need to wake up first." I told the little wolf. She nodded and curled up against me. Her cheek between my neck and shoulder and her little body cradled against my chest in foetal position.

"Happy birthday little one." I muttered and kissed her head.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Judith, happy birthday to you." Everyone sang. Harriette held a cake while Judith sat on her fathers lap ready to blow out the candle atop of her birthday cake.

Now three, Judith is really growing into her own features. She still looks like a mix of her parents, but she's Judith, if that makes sense. She's my beautiful little mate. Judith loves it when I put her to bed. We have a routine, every Friday night I'm able to stay and play with my mate until she passes out from exhaustion. Since she's still little she has a set bedtime any other day, but because she doesn't have nursery the next day, I'm free to spend the evening with my mate.

It's kind of like babysitting really, but she's cuddly with me and will eventually fall asleep on me. Regular children wouldn't do that with their babysitters, they'd be put to bed whether they liked it or not. After her day at nursery, I would pick up Judith and take her out, Friday nights are also a time for Harriette and Damien to have date night while they know their baby is in safe hands.

Judith and I would go somewhere she's heard her friends talking about while sharing with her little group. So she can experience it as well, I don't want her to miss out on anything. Don't worry, Harriette and Damien don't miss out, they do the big things with her, proper days out, while I take her to the park or take her for a run. The little pup curled up while I hold the scruff of her neck in my mouth. She loves it, and loves to swim so I take her to the lake right outside of her home. So we are never too far away from safety and we can bring out clothes if we want to shift. Judith hasn't quite got the hang of taking off her clothes before shifting so they don't exactly last, but I wrap her up in my T-shirt before me or her parents bath her and get her into pyjamas.

Of course when I shift into my wolf form, I sit Judith behind a tree so I don't scar her for life. I don't need that, especially while she's so round, no toddler should see any of that. So I always shift behind a tree. But on the days she's fussy, I make sure to bring extra clothes because mine get shredded because she doesn't want me to leave her sight.

"Judith, do you want to open some presents?" Harriette smiled at her daughter fisting cake into her little mouth. Judith nodded and smiled, bits of cake falling from her lips making me chuckle. Once she finished her little feast, I made sure to wipe her mouth and hands before sitting her in between her parents.

"This one's from uncle Dustin and uncle Ryker." Damien told Judith. My fathers got her a night light of her favourite Disney princess, Ariel of course. That little wolf could watch the little mermaid on repeat day in day out. Her love for water is like her love for that film. I guess that's why she loves both, because Ariel loves to swim as well and is in water, and any form of water, Judith will want to be in it to swim.

"What do you say, Judith." Damien spoke to his daughter.

"Thank you." She looked at my parents. They awed at her and kissed her head.

"You're welcome baby girl." My dad, Dustin, smiled at her.

"Okay, this one's from grandad and grandma." Harriette said.

Once all of her presents were gone, all that was left was mine. It was only something little because she was spoilt by her other family members. But mine was special. Judith is a special person to me, and I love her so much. So now that she's old enough, I'm able to give her stuff like this.

"This is from me, little one." I kneeled down in front of her. Her little legs swinging near me, but she made sure not to kick me. "I hope you like it."

Judith opened the small box with the assistance of her mother, pulling off the wrapping paper. When she opened the box, a small necklace lay there, an infinity sign on a chain big enough for her little body. And as she grows, I'll get it altered so it'll grow with her.

"Happy birthday Judith." I smiled at her. "This little sign means infinity. That means it's you and me forever little one." A huge smile took over her face. Judith jumped at me, holding me tightly around the neck with her arms.

"Thank you Alec." Judith whispered.

"You're welcome little one. Want me to put it on for you?" I asked. She nodded and got the box from her mum before handing it to me. I told her to turn around so I could lift her hair and clasp the chain around her neck. Harriette ended up holding Judith's hair while I put the necklace on her. The huge smile never fading.

It made me smile, knowing I made my mate happy.
