Twenty-one

Alec POV

As soon as Judith got close enough, her body came at me with her arms wrapping around my neck and her legs around my waist. My arms didn't hesitate to lock around her keeping her in a tight embrace, as tight as I could. I didn't realise how much I've missed her until this moment. Of course I've missed Judith, but I didn't realise how much.

You came." She cried. Her arms growing tighter around my neck.

"I'll always be here for you, little one." I muttered lowly to her. Because it's the truth, I will always be here for her, and now she's in my arms I never want to let her go again. She pulled away and put her hands on my cheeks, a soft smile on her face.

"What happened to you?" She laughed a little.

"What?" I chuckled knowing she was about to comment on my appearance.

"I didn't realise how long your hair actually was." Judith replied and slid her fingers through my hair at the bottom of my neck. "And when was this a thing?" She added gripping my beard. Being a black smith and making things for the pack and personal requests from pack members I've been busy and just didn't have time to go for a haircut, all I wanted to do was go to work, get home and talk to Judith. Shaving wasn't on my mind.

"It's a bit long isn't it?" I smile. "Should really get a haircut."

"No don't." Judith did wait a second to say. "I like you like this. I don't know, I like it." Before I knew it her face was back in my neck with her arms tight around me.

Enjoying this, I put my face in the crook of her neck with my hands fisting on her back. Goddess the want to pull her away and kiss her was undeniable. Marco and Whitney was right, I would've regretted this if I hadn't come today.

"Judith." Someone said making her move away from me. I looked up to see Damien, Harriette and some kid stood with them. Judith loosened her legs so she could stand, however I didn't want to let her go but I know I have to. So as she slid down my body I gently let her fall and land on her feet.

"Alec, this is Adam, he's my boyfriend. Adam, this is Alec, he's m family friend." She stated.

"Hello." I gave him a slight nod.

"Hi, nice to meet you." Adam replied. I nodded and moved from Judith to see Harriette and Damien. I pulled Harriette to my chest and kissed her cheek.

"It's good to see you again, Harri." I muttered to her.

"And you, Alec." She replied kissing my cheek as well. Then I moved to Damien, somehow I've grown a couple inches taller and now overlook him. I wouldn't say tower over him because I don't, I used to come to his neck and now his just under that on me.

"You've changed a fucking lot kid. Go back in time, where's the scrawny Alec gone?" Damien chuckled and pulled me into a hug. His strength hasn't changed at all though.

"Yeah I guess I have." I shrugged and pulled away.

"You've met Marco and Whitney, their son Grayson. They wanted to come along and meet Judith." I tell them. "Little one, come here." I called her. "These are my friends, Marco and Whitney, their son Grayson. They wanted to meet you so they came with me today to celebrate your birthday."

"Hi, nice to meet you." Judith smiled at them. "I hope my future kids are as cute as you, Grayson." Judith looked at him. He smiled shyly and hid in his mums leg.

My heart raced at the thought. She wants kids? Would she want them with me? How many would we have? What would we decide their names to be? Who would they become years from now. Judith wants children, why did that excite yet scare me so much.

"How long are you here for? I can't wait for you to meet my mate. But I have a hunch you've already met him." Judith stated.

"Uhm, yeah. Ask me tomorrow and I'll tell you." I replied.

"Judith, could I talk to you? Alone." Adam asked her. I frowned wanting to know why he'd want to talk to her.

"Yeah of course." She nodded. Harriette, Damien, Whitney, Marco, Grayson and I walked into the house letting Judith and Adam talk outside.

Judith POV

"Are you okay?" I ask Adam. He seems nervous, I can hear his heart beating so fast. "Adam you know you can talk to me."

"Judith you're amazing and I love you. You've made me happy and I had the biggest crush on you for a long time. And I thought that maybe you'd be my mate. I wanted that, but I can't have that." Adam told me.

"What do you mean?" I frowned. I know what he means, I just don't want to believe it.

"A couple weeks ago I was on a run and went further than I anticipated. I entered a neighbouring pack's territory. I found my mate there. I should've told you sooner but I wanted to make sure you were happy and content. Judith you are one the best things to ever happen to me but my heart belongs to my mate. Wren, his name is Wren and I would love it if I could bring him here tomorrow so you can meet, and I can be properly introduced to your mate." He explained.

"Oh my god." I whispered. I threw my arms around him holding him in a tight hug. "Congratulations, Adam. I'm so happy for you. You could've told me sooner, I wouldn't have been mad. I'm only mad you didn't tell me and kept him away. Go to him, mate with him do whatever it is that mates do."

"I love you Judith. And I know you'll have an amazing person as your mate who will love and care for you more than anyone else. I'll introduce you tomorrow and I know you'll love him." Adam said.

"I love you too, Adam. I hope we can stay friends." I mutter to him while hugging him.

"Of course. Double dates are needed." He chuckled. We said our goodbyes before he got in his car and drove off. As sad as I am that Adam isn't my mate, the happiness outweighs it and I'm glad he's happy. I just hope I find that happiness as well.

"Where's Adam?" Dad asked when I walked in.

"He's gone. Adam and I aren't dating anymore. He found his mate and I sent him to him. He really loves him and I am beyond happy for him. Adam deserves the world and I'm glad he's found that with Wren." I tell him.

"I'm sorry sweetheart. He's a good kid." Dad hugged me to his side.

"I'm not even upset or mad about it. I'm mad he didn't tell me because now I feel like I kept them from being together. We're still friends, I guess that's all it was meant to be. But I'm so happy for him." I smile to myself. "What about you?" I look at Alec. "Any mate or someone that's caught your eye?"

"Uh, yeah." He coughed awkwardly. "Someone's caught my eye."

"What's their name? Male or female? What are they like? When can I meet the lucky person my best friend likes."

"She's the most beautiful girl that I've ever set my eyes on, with the kindest, purest soul. I can't wait for you to meet her. Until then, her name remains unknown." Alec said.

"Oh come on." I roll my eyes. "Tell me her name."

"Judith, no." He chuckled a little making me roll my eyes again.

Only two chapters today. I'm tired and would love to write another chapter but I just want sleep. However I will not make you wait as I'll be putting up more chapters tomorrow.
