Alec POV

"Are you ready?" I looked at my mate who was still staring around our house in awe. A soft chuckle left my lips glad she likes it. After we christened the bed, we had a shower, of course doing it there as well. After Judith wanted to look around the pack so we washed up and got dressed. She had on a pastel yellow summer dress that flowed around her waist but hugged around her breasts nicely.

"Yep." She smiled widely coming to my side and taking my hand. I stopped her before we left the door.

"I love you, Judith." I looked down at her, our hands still together with my other hand on her cheek.

"I love you, Alec." She smiled up at me. I leaned down and gave her soft kiss pouring all my love into it so she doesn't just know, she can feel how much I love her. Because I know every time we kiss all I can feel is her love.

When we pulled away, I nudged her nose with mine before kissing the tip. I opened the door and lead her out of it, putting the key in my pocket so we'll be able to get in. Thankfully some of the houses can only be opened by key from the outside so people can't just walk in. However some have the doors that can be opened both inside and outside, I chose one of the houses that didn't have that. Judith and I get our privacy so if we get an unexpected visitor they'd have to knock until we answer.

"Okay, where do you want to go first?" I looked at her as she took in the scenery as we walked.

"Anywhere. Shops and stuff like that can be left for another day. But I want to see where you work, I want to know all the fun spots around the pack. You know like, do they have a lake for swimming? Where do the pups like to hang around. I want to see them smiling, hear them laughing. Literally anything you think I'd like." She told me. I nodded and pulled her arm to go see the pups.

It's the weekend so they're not at school, there's a huge clearing behind a bunch of trees, not far from the houses so the pups can play. Parents stand around and talk, catch up, the usual mum and dad things. This is where some BBQ's are held for the pack, a few of the fathers cooking as well as Marco. He takes things so there is enough for everyone.

Once we make it through the trees, we see the laughing children. Some in their little wolf forms, some still in human as they all ran around. Parents looked at us as we walked in giving us smiles, a few adding waves in with their smiles.

"Welcome back, Alec." A woman shouted over from the other side.

"Thanks." I shouted back. Not that we had to but I guess there's nothing to hide so might as well shout.

"Who's that?" Judith looked up at me, curiosity in her eyes.

"That is Marco's sister, Maggie. Younger by a year. She is mated to the beta, Wesley, everyone calls him Wes though." I told her.

"Ah. When do I get to meet the beta?"

"Right now." I whispered to her as Maggie and Wes walk up to us hand in hand like we were.

"Hi, I'm Maggie. This is my mate Wesley." She smiled at Judith.

"Hello, I'm Judith. Alec's mate." My mate replied.

"It's nice to meet you. I was wondering when I'd meet Alec's mate. Three years he was here and not a single sign he was eyeing anyone up. Yet here you are." Maggie laughed.

"Uh, yeah." Judith blushed. "When your mate is a whole lot younger than you it kind of gets difficult to be around them. Instincts and everything, not good in some peoples eyes." Judith stated. I squeezed her hand and gave her a small smile.

"I agree. Marco and Whitney have an age gap, he was older while she was younger. He wanted to be around her but stayed away because people who don't understand us like to put their business where it's not wanted."

"You we're seventeen and I was twenty-three." Wesley added.

"It's actually relieving to know that we're not the only big age gap couple in this pack." Judith laughed in relief.

"How big?" Maggie asked.

"Seventeen years." I told her. Maggie and Wesley's eyes widened a bit when they heard my answer. They both forced a smile but I know they didn't want to say anything.

"Oh, wow." Maggie whispered. "That is big."

"Uhm." Judith shrunk away also clearly seeing their reaction. I looked down and pulled Judith close to my side so she could get some comfort from me.

"No, oh goddess we're so sorry." Maggie blurted out. "That wasn't, I didn't." She sighed. "I'm sorry but I'm twenty-five now and have never heard of a couples age gap being that big. We shouldn't have reacted like that, it was ignorant of us and I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." Judith whispered. I frowned and turned my body so we were chest to chest. Judith hid her face in my chest squeezing my hand tightly.

"Get them thoughts out of your head. It's okay, we're okay." I whispered to her. I put my head down so my nose was in her hair. I kissed the top of her head, silently reassuring that us being mates isn't wrong, we're both adults, consenting and love each other. It's not anyone's business and as long as we have each other we don't need anyone else.

"Mummy! Daddy!" A little voice broke the awkwardness that the four of us found ourselves in. A little girl ran up to Wes and Maggie, their daughter Lyla, their eldest child, Bentley and Grayson following behind. Bentley is seven, they had him when Maggie was eighteen, Lyla is the same age as Grayson being three.

"Hey munchkin." Wes smiled and bent down to pick her up while Bentley and Grayson stood to the side.

"Alright kiddo?" I looked at Grayson who nodded and walked over to Wes to be closer to Lyla. "You good, Bentley?"

"Yep." He nodded. "Who's that?" He pointed at Judith.

"Hello, I'm Judith." She gave him a smile. "I'm Alec's mate."

"Oh, cool. I'm Bentley. This is my mum and my dad." He pointed at Maggie and Wes.

"I know. We were just talking." She smiled reassuringly.

"Judith, I really am sorry." Maggie looked between us, guilt in her eyes.

"It's okay, really." My mate once again smiled reassuringly.

"Come on, there's more I want to show you. We'll see you all later." I stated.

"It was nice meeting you, Maggie." Judith gave her a smile. "And you Wes."

"And you, Judith." They both replied. I gently tugged Judith's hand leading her away and back through the trees. We walked in silence until we got to where I work. Fire heated up from the other blacksmiths, there's only three of us, I usually take on a lot more work than them to keep me occupied. And that the other two have families to get home to.

"This is where I work. I make everything here. Flowers for mates for Valentine's Day, key-rings, earrings, any jewellery really, horse shoes for the equestrians in the pack, literally anything you can think of I've made or will eventually make in my life." I told her.

"It's hot." Judith laughed. "How do you work in the heat as well as the fire. You must be naked to keep cool."

I chuckled and smiled at her. "Not quite. There's three of us, so we keep it minimal. Vests, shorts, especially in the summer. In the winter it's jeans and a T-shirt. The cold doesn't bother me anyway, but the fire keeps us warm as well. And when we use the hammer to shape the metal, it's a lot and definitely makes me sweat."

"I bet." Judith smirked. Just as I got up from my leaning position to go to my mate, that voice sounded.

"Alec? You're back?" She smiled when she saw me. She pushed past Judith and hugged me. I smile and hug her back.

"I told you I'd be back, didn't I?"
