Newt Imagines : Maze runner

Question

It was another lovely morning in the safe heaven. I shuffled over to my side and gently opened my sleepy eyes. But the other side of the bed was empty. He must have decided to get an early start. I sat up in bed and stretched my arms above my head. Then changed into some clothes and headed outside. The sunny warmth hit me instantly, along with the salty tinge in the air.

I spotted Newt, over with Thomas amd Minho, talking. So I went over to join them. As I headed over their chatter faded awkwardly.

"Hey, what's going on?" I asked.

"Oh uh nothing" Thomas said "Just having a good old chat"

"Oh right, well I was gonna go and help with the medics today, so I'll see you later Newt."

"Yeah, see you later" He avoid my gaze.

"You ok Newt?"

"Of course why wouldn't I be?"

I shrugged and headed off. I organised some of the supplies when  Newt wandered in.

"Vince told me to bring these in" he holded up a crate.

"Oh great" I smiled taking them from him, our hands touching during the exchange.

I noticed his hands were trembling.

"Newt are you sure you're ok? You're acting really weird today."

"I'm fine I swear."

"Well if you say so."

Later on I was sitting on the sand, watching the sea, when Newt approached me.

"Y/n, can we talk?"

"Sure"

He put his hand out which I took  and stood up, his hands shaking again.

"Sorry if I've been a bit, nervous today, I've been wanting to ask you something, amd well it's quite nerve-wracking" He explained.

"Y/n, ever since the glade, when you came up the box, my feelings have never changed for you. I love you, so, so much. And I know, that we don't have much, but, just being with you, is enough for me. And I want to be with you for the rest of my life. So, Y/n, my love, will you marry me?"

My heart skipped a beat in surprise "Oh my god Newt are you kidding me? Of course I will! Yes!" I jumped and hugged him sending us both on the floor in a giggling mess. Kissing him a thousand times.

"I take it she said yes!" Minho shouted from a distance.

"Whooooo! Congrats!" Thomas yelled.

"I would have proposed with a ring, but there's no where I could get one."

"I don't care, so long as I have you" I hugged him tightly.
