Entry 17
I ignored all his teasings until he decided to sit and shut up. Slowly, the corner of his lips lift.
"You're still not done, aren't you?"
Oh my god. Please remind me again why I'm in a relationship with this man.
I already consumed everything.
I shot a glance at him over my shoulder. "Paano kapag ginawa ko?" I challenged him.
I closed the ref and turned around to face him. Kumagat siya sa muffins at nagkibit-balikat.
"Hindi mo gagawin 'yon. Mahal mo 'ko, eh." He smirked sneeringly.
Ngumiwi ako sa kayabangan niya.
He's partly right but I won't discuss more of it. I'm still about to know who I really am and what I really want, but one thing for sure I know about myself is that I always think I can survive on my own. And I'm scared to dwell on the thought that I can actually live without him.
But I have my choices now. And I will always choose to be with him.
I squared my shoulder and walked past him to my drawer to get my wallet.
"May coffee shop sa baba. I'll grab us coffee." I told him and faced him again.
I asserted to stop him in his tracks.
He halted and stares at me as if he was fighting himself to argue with me. I tilted my head and arched a brow to him. He raised his hands and slams them down instantly too before nodding. I smiled and opened the door to leave.
He knows that I don't want to be treated like a baby. He can buy us a coffee, okay, but I can also do that. We're both adults who can do and run things on our own.
The chimes rang when I pushed the glass door and entered. It's a small coffee shop with few tables—maybe three or four— because customers always want their drinks taken out. I guess?
I found out about this place on my first day in the apartment and I was looking for something to eat. The interiors are very minimalist with a combination of cream and wood for the tables and chairs. The walls are painted white with few designs of portraits and letterings. The menu is behind the counter written on a dark board with wooden edges. There's also cove lighting but they are only visible during the night.
"Good morning, Ma'am!" The cashier greeted me.
I tried to smile and begin to think of what coffee Dax would like. I forgot to ask him.
"I'll have two iced brewed coffee." I told the male cashier.
I only stopped mid way toward the corner when I saw a familiar face entered the cafe.
