Entry 16
I was half-running in the hallway to the staircase towards the third floor when I halted because someone appeared in front of me. I look at the stranger in front of me with questions because I'm already late for my class. I didn't hear my alarm earlier this morning the reason why I only have three minutes left before my first subject starts yet someone is interrupting my way to the classroom.
"Uh, hi." He smiled shyly at me.
I pinched my eyebrows together in confusion. I don't know who this guy is and after the news spread about me and Dax being in a relationship, others, finally, started talking to me. Well, they don't randomly come in front of my face but they are not avoiding me either. Especially the first year students, they look at me differently than before. It feels like they are more comfortable now after knowing that I'm dating Dax.
"Hi?" Patanong kong sagot sa kaniya.
He looks younger than me, maybe a second year or third year? His hair is dark with some strands of chocolate blonde he bleached for sure. His shirt is well ironed with buttoned completely closed. I bit the side of my cheek remembering how Dax's shirt is always two buttons opened. And he has no idea how he attracts girls by just merely opening his shirt.
"I-I..." he stuttered which confuse me more.
He inhaled and exhaled once while I keep on thinking about my three minutes that turned into two more minutes before my first subject.
"What do you need? I still have to get into my class. I only have two minutes left." I didn't sound rude but I don't know why he suddenly looks intimidated.
I squared my shoulder and tried my very best to give him a small smile to look nice- that Dax taught me a week ago- but I don't think I look like it.
Screw smiling, I'm already late. I looked at him using my resting face.
"A-Ano kasi may gusto lang sana akong sabihin." Kinakabahan niyang sambit at nakita ko ang pamumuo ng pawis sa kaniyang noo.
I didn't react and waited for whatever he was about to say. I saw how his eyes are going from left to right and right to left, repeatedly. I glanced at my wristwatch and I only have one minute left.
"I like you, Trishastrea." He snapped and closed his eyes tightly.
My lips parted a little in surprise but I closed them again.
After everyone heard about my relationship with Dax, he wasn't the first one to confess that they like me. I'm not bragging, but my Facebook account was bombarded with messages from boys— I don't have an idea who they are—
saying that they have feelings for me.
Just last night, Dax read the long message on my messenger that came from someone we don't know who because it's a dummy account. I let him use my account because I really don't care about those messages. That's also the reason why he went home very late.
He has a seven am class today and I woke up at that time the reason we didn't go to school together. But it's not like I expected that we will always be at each other's side every damn hour.
"I like you." He repeated, now in eyes open, trying to be brave.
"I like me, too." I replied without forethought.
