Chapter 10: Someone's Back

"It's that kid again."

Yukino Miyazaki, a 26-year-old doctor also turned her head to the direction that the two nurses were talking about. There, she sees the same teenager she saw several days ago.

It was more than a week when she last saw the same girl. Curiosity took over her as she stared at the girl from the position where she's in. It's already 5 o'clock in the afternoon, minutes before her shift ends. She is currently monitoring patients from the lobby of the second floor. From there, she continued to observe the girl who was just standing still in front of the receptionist table, not talking and doing anything at all.

She continued to stare. She noticed that the girl who looked casual days ago, now looks mature and sophisticated in her fuchsia fitted dress.

"You know, she keeps coming back here. I wonder who she's looking for." the brunette heard from the nurses once more.

As if the young girl sensed someone's attention, she quickly looked up and locked eyes with the gray-eyed doctor. This occurrence made the girl ran to the exit quickly.

"Wait!" As reflex, Yukino ran after the girl. Her mind would play tricks in her mind if she doesn't chase after that mysterious girl. 

Why must that child need to run away upon seeing her? What's with her? 

These questions filled the doctor's mind.

Yukino isn't good with activities that require great stamina; however, the girl was wearing her high heels while the doctor sprints with her flat shoes, so she caught up to her. She held her wrist, making the girl with long blonde hair turn to her pursuer.

"Please don't run like that. It's dangerous, Miss." The doctor said making the girl turn her head. The girl looked at Yukino with a scared face.

"Are you okay?" The teenager looked at the kind gray-eyed woman who was showing concern to her. Her voice sounds sweet, her hand feels warm. She internally got angry with herself, trying to run away from such a kind woman.

The brunette felt the way the girl loosened up and calmly faced her. Upon observing that, she immediately held the girl's hand. This made the blonde with golden eyes look up to her.

"If you ever need someone to talk to, you can come talk to me. Okay?" Gray eyes meet her golden ones here. Sincerity visible in the gray ones. 

Yukino said that because she feels drawn to the teenager. For such a young age, she felt that this girl is burdened with something so heavy.

"I know that I'm practically a stranger to you, but I'm willing to listen. Anytime."

"Here, take this." The yellow-eyed girl looks at the calling card with the hospital's logo, address and even the older woman's number in her small palm.

"You can give me a call or come to me anytime." The younger female felt so much warmth upon listening to the doctor. In fact, she never encountered such kindness before.

"Thank you...Ma'am." Yukino hears the girl's voice while looking down.

"I'm Yukino Miyazaki. May I ask for your name?"

"..."

"It's fine if you don't want to tell me. I underst--"

"Chiyo... Harumi" was what all she heard from the blondie. This made the brunette smile.
